I spend at least 20 hours per week analysing every runner in every New Zealand gallops race. I provide the race video comments for the NZ TAB formguides and city papers, so it is my job to do it. Then it takes many more hours to work out the sectionals and analyse races for future winners.
So if you haven't got the time to analyse the videos and form, you can get it all from here.
I’ve been involved in punting and analysing races for thirty years now. It wasn’t until 1990, when I read a book called The Ultimate Strategy by Garry Robinson, did I turn my punting around. This taught me how to do my own Time Ratings in New Zealand. I then learnt how to work out my own weight ratings using various methods. Then in 2004 I read as much as I could on how to use sectionals effectively. I honed my sectional skills on Australian races.
Once I felt confident working out sectionals off the video on Australian races and checking them with official electronic figures, I started working out NZ gallops sectionals off the video. I couldn’t be without them now and have found them to be an excellent form factor to use when analysing races. You’ll see in the Weekend Reviews I’ll often refer to them.
I get a great deal of pleasure out of analysing a race and seeing if I can work out the form puzzle. Of course I don’t get it right all the time but if I can pick enough winners at the right prices we all win. Plus of course you can use the selections in your trebles, trifectas or other bets.
Over the next few weeks I’ll be writing some articles on various punting topics including, how to use sectionals to find winners, and a very good staking plan that maximises profits.
If there is something on here you don't understand, please contact me and I will do my best to explain it. Especially if you are new to betting on horses, there is so much to learn and so many traps to fall into. In fact, I will do an article for novice punters so let me know what you would like me to include if you fall into that category.
