I wrote an article about how there is a hole in the Harness Handicapping and the horse below is a good example of that. She is a Good Confidence bet and from our bank of 50 units, I suggest backing her now at with 5 units at the current $7 FF as I feel she will come in.
Friday Alexandra Park
Race 4 7.19 p.m.
1.American Empress 2nd after getting a soft lead won here in December over 2200m speeding over to lead from gate 7 and set an even tempo. She put them to the sword before the turn and won strongly in 2.37.1, a terrific time easily beating race rival Juice Brogden. Then last start in a strong Group 1 Fillies and Mares field at Addington she drew the second row, settled back and once clear hit the line harder than anything for third in a the fast time of 3.09.4 and because there is no handicap for horses that run 2nd to 5th, she stayed on a rating of 71. With the preferential draw she gets the inside draw as she is the falsely rated lowest runner. She has the gate speed to hold the lead and I can’t see anything taking her on as Sailesh Abernathy likes to hold the front once there, and she is in the right form to say she can lead these all the way. RP $3.40, $7FF and $1.75 Ff
