A fine day on a Good 3 track looks ideal for a good day of racing at Te Teko here. Some nice horses going round. No Good Confidence bets but there are a couple of favourites that look like they will make a nice multi.
Is Savvy Coup up to winning in Australia? Based on the race time and sectionals here compared to the St Leger won by Daytona Red, yes she is. Both races ran to the 600m in almost identical 200m average sectionals of 12.77 ( Oaks) and 12.88. Savvy Coup ran home in 33.80 and Daytona Red 33.89. Even taking into account the St Leger was 100m further, both races weren’t run at a solid tempo. So for a 3yo filly to out-perform a strong four year old does say she can go well in Australia. I’d love to see what she can do over a middle distance that is run at a strong tempo as it would allow her to relax better, then if she can produce that same finish, she could do something special.
