Whanganui

I’ve been through the Whanganui form and with all the jumpout form around the maiden races, it is hard to have a bet with any confidence. How hard can it be to employ someone to film the last 200m of each heat and post it on Youtube. I was at Matamata yesterday and below is the last 200 metres of a race which is all we need from the jumpouts so we can the horses and how they are going to the line.

The forecast is for occasional rain through to this evening so it is likely to get a downgrade.

Race 1

How could you have a bet in this race? They are all fresh up and you just don’t know which ones are fit enough to see out 2000m. The money will come for a couple of runners but I  can think of better ways of losing your money.

Race 2

1.Sligo has had three seconds and was well beaten last start by a good horse. But he won’t meet a weaker maiden field. 2.Cullen Bohannon freshened up and back to 1600m will suit. Just beaten here over 1600m in January. It could be the type of race the winner comes out of the Invisible jumpouts..

Race 3

Good race to pass on.

Race 4

5.Regal Winks  won on debut here on a slow track. Has the best FRs in the race and if fit enough ( Jumpout form) is the one to beat.

9.Exhibit  drawn well and fitter.

1.Prawn Star won well in a fast run race last start. Gets 2kgs off. But drawn out with good speed inside it.

6.Book Smart  1st $12 won well here then fair 4ths next two.

8.Fascino Lass game second here two starts back. 2kgs off.

10.Incantation strong second last start. With a good beginning could do it.

Race 5

Confidence: 2/5

4.Starossa 1st $5 with a good ride. has won here on a heavy track and won in fast time at Stratford. Freshened up and looks well placed to win. RP $4, $5.00 Ff

Dangers:

3.Kool Connection nice horse and 134m fresh suits.

2.Smoken Hot all favours in her win last start. Drawn well to get a similar run though.

1.Miss Doherty was unplaced in the Levin Jumpouts named incorrectly  as Miss Dorothy.

Race 6

1.Baxstreetboy 1st $1.80  won a jumpout at Levin. Had his chances last campaign and it would have been great to have seen how much he had strengthened up at the jumpout. But we can’t and he is the obvious danger to 3.Lodi so you can’t bet with confidence on either horse not knowing that information.

8.Three Way Cut and 6.Galway Lil also ran seconds at the Levin Jumpouts.

Race 7

Confidence: 2/5

1.Tuscan Whistler 1st $3.30 quad $435    fought hard for second in a fair form race. In his recent trial he was allowed to drift and settle last and travelled well then was never asked to go in the straight till near the post full of running. Drawn 1 and can beat the favourite with the likely winning run near the pace that he should get with Troy Harris up. RP $3.00, $3.80 Ff

Danger:

5.Piriwai had her chance last start. Drawn wide and will need luck. $2 is too short.
