Update: 1.45

With only $k5 in the Matamata quaddie pool with 30 minutes to go, it isn’t likely to get beyond $20k and with a couple of favoured runners likely to win, it is unlikely to pay more than $4k so pass and pass on the Ozzie quaddie as well. Next one will probably be on Saturday.

Good morning,

We missed on our first quaddie at Caulfield for the syndicate and we may have one today which I will post by 2 p.m. or 4.20 p.m. for Australia. It is a slow 9 track today and it will be tough going for most.

Good luck,

Race 1

Confidence: 2/5

1.Iniga Montoya 2nd $1.50 qu $7 ran into a good one last start in Obsessive. Very fit and a slow-heavy track is ok. RP $3.70, $3.50 FF

7.Surrey 1st $3.70  the very well bred 5yo out of Makybe Diva  looked good belting down the outer from 6th inner to win going away in his trial. Strong type suited to 1600m and his action says he will handle a wet track well.

Race 2

Confidence: 2/5

1.Master Painton 2nd after getting every chance  is due to win and he ran a strong second here last start with a good wet track action to Hanger who has franked that form since! RP $2.20

6.Not Usual Prince fought on well last start for fourth and a wetter track will suit his action.

Race 3

Confidence: 2/5

3.Colleraine did well fresh up 4th and wide in the open but probably in better ground and didn’t flinch right to the line. 1400m sill suit and a slow track suits.

4.Fistral Beach found the line like she will relish 1400m now.

2.Lady Kartel game second last start and drawn to get all favours.

1.Velveteen tough and fresh up will be in this. The tougher the going the better her chances.

Race 4

Confidence: 2/5

13.Imblaze 1st $6.30 after working wide on the pace. last start came home strongly for fourth after a tough run. She has won here on a heavy track over 1400m and is ready to repeat the win. Gets 3kgs off and peaking in the right race over 1400m. RP $3.00

3.Grand Soleil nice mare. If the inside is no good though, could be in trouble fresh up. ( 4.5kgs to Imblaze though)

14.Tattybogler  ran home well in a good last 600m last start and is ready to go better.

1.Artiste will get back and be charging home. Giving good weight ( 4.5kgs to Imblaze though)

8.Sansa Stark solid third last start against two nice horses. Wet track ok.

2.Show ‘N’ Go has had his chances and does things wrong in the straight. Action ok for wet though and fitter now. If inside is ok, being against the rail will help.

1.Saint Croix 1st $3.50   has had a few goes but can handle a wet track better than most.

5.Leaf 2nd $4.50 ran a strong 3rd in his trial on a heavy track with a good wet track action. Wide draw could be a plus.

14.Witchery  ran home ok for third in her trial hanging so may be better this way round.

1.Amazing Banker 1st $13.10  strong fella suited to a heavy slog and good third two starts back beside The Chaser who has won twice since.

3.Cavallo Eccellente action says wet track ok and trialling well- last one led and was never touched in the straight for fourth. Ready.

4.Facepaint  won strongly on a slow track in a trial last year. Fair fifth on debut. Drawn well.

12.Sweet Nineteen  was hampered in the staright on debut and battled on ok after. Drawn well.

2.Clarios 3rd $4.80  good fourth last start and with a good run likely can be in it.

16.Yamuna  2nd $7 trialled nicely when on the pace and wasn’t pushed for 4th and the others were. Bred to handle a wet track and action will help.

14.Simply Divine not a bad effort on debut after working wide early and wilting 150m out.
