Friday preview posted

Good morning,

The full preview of Counties can be seen here. The rail is out 7m from True last time here and likely to aid on pace runners early on at least. There look to be some nice bets here today. The first leg of the quaddie looks an ideal race for Amastar to lead and win. Watch out for the Heads Up podcast posted by 5 p.m. where the Money Shot and I will preview a couple of good races, plus the best sports bet, your chance to win a month’s free Formpro sub, and much more.

No bet for the quaddie syndicate today.

An early preview of Saturday is posted here

Race 5

The speed map shows Amastar sliding forward to lead or sit 2nd outer outside Tremendous. A moderate to even tempo likely suiting the first four runners.

Confidence: 2/5

3.Amastar  was run down by the smart Mihaul last start rating an FR ( Formpro Rating) of 103, a career best. I liked the way she relaxed on a long rein and just kept up a strong stride rate right to the line looking stronger than last campaign.  She maps to lead and did that at Tauranga and held on well over 1300m. With strong placings on heavy tracks, she can hold these out. Rated Price (RP) $2.70 , $3.40 FF

 Dangers:

7.Tremendous has won fresh up on a heavy track without a trial and goes into this without one as well. Might be better on a heavy track but drawn to get a good run and with 3kgs off, is a real threat to Amastar with a 5kg advantage. RP $5, $8.50 FF

6.Summer Dale  in his recent trial was wide all the way and wasn’t pushed when galloping nicely to the line out wide. Maps to trail and a place chance from there.

4.Myrcella trialled ok when back amongst others a bit keen but worked home nicely amongst others. She won her maiden at this meeting last year second up on a slow 7 track. She is a nice horse and with a good run likely, will be right in it.

Other thoughts:

1.Bella Gioia  has won on a Slow7 track at Te Rapa but didn’t round it off fresh up 2.6L behind Amastar last start and hard to see her turning the tables with just 1kg turn around in handicap.

2.Justacanta nice horse but likely to get back and will want a decent temp to run these down and he is unlikely to get that.
