Thursday preview below

Good morning,

I couldn’t find another Voler Pour Moi today. The track is a Slow 8 which is always tricky as it can suit heavy track runners and Dead track runners could get away with it. So trebles, trifectas and quaddies are probably the best way to go today.

I’ll have an early preview of some Saturday races up by 5 p.m.

Bet of the day Race 4 5.Lady Kartel $2.40 FF 1st $2.20

Value bet of the day Race 2 8.Electrode $3.80 Ff 1st $2.60

Race 1

Confidence: 1/5 in a tricky race

4.Craggie Range is ready to go fresh up after a good trial win. But a slow 8/9 track may not suit.

5.Magico burnt early and was left wanting in the slower ground last start. Will be better suited by this track.

Race 2

Confidence: 2/5

8.Electrode won fresh up last campaign on a slow 8 track at Waipa after trialling well. This time she ran third in her trial after sharing the pace and wasn’t touched to run third behind Astor. She looks stronger and ready to fire fresh up again from the Baker/Forsman stable. RP $3.40, $3.80 FF

3.Mahidun  won well last start and from a good draw with 3kgs off can repeat. RP

5.Pickngo won well on debut. Lisa rode him then and in his recent trial win.

4.Dreams Of Platinum  should get a good run and be in this.

Race 3

Confidence: 2/5

9.Chosen Peak looked good winning her trial settling behind the leaders and coming with an ideal wet action to win easily. Drawn out and 1400m looks ideal on debut from the Myers stable.

3.Grand Mayson just won his trial. He’s a big powerful galloper but action says a Dead or better track.

1.Rock Island Line  strong second last start and fitter.

7.Martinelli  ran on well last start for Sam and she is back on again.

Race 4

Confidence: 3/5

5.Lady Kartel  drawn to get all favours with Lisa on board. Strong second fresh up closing hard then looked the winner last start but just blew out late as they went the hardest of the three 1400m up font. Drawn ideally with Lisa up and third up is ready to win. RP $2.20, $2.40

1.Charlie Horse fitter after two good thirds.

Race 5

Confidence: 1/5

3.Donardo ran a strong third here last December over ground and ran on well fresh up.

1.Our Jackson rates on top after weight adjustments and has the best FR on a wet track.

9.Bastille Babe could be let loose today.

5.Platinum Edition good 4th two back and slow track ok.

7.Billy Paco  could easily upset fresh from the Myers stable.

Race 6

Confidence: 2/5

3.Zanyetta  drops in class for this and is fitter after a good run against Highlad who won next up. RP $4.00

5.Londaro is looking for more ground now and is a strong fella.

12.El Bayardo won on a Heavy 11 at Trentham this time last year with Lisa on in an R75 race.

8.Johnny Lincoln  if ridden quiet and swoops with the inside off could do it.

Race 7

9.Our Charli’s Angel strong second two back and bog beat her last time. Drawn well if inside is ok. RP $3.80

2.Rawhide good fresh run and fitter from ace draw.

3.Locharburn  ran on well on debut and gets 1.5kgs off.

4.Penticoup  ran on well last start and fitter now from the Fraser Auret stable.

5.All In Rock has the best FR on a wet track so could upset.

Race 8

Confidence: 1/5

4.Star Quality  is racing well and with not a lot of pace likely, could get a break on them and be hard to catch. RP $4

9.Diamond Dancer  won wel last start and should be on a moderate tempo and be right in it.

10.O’Ceirin’s Choice peaking now with Sam Collett up again. Has the best FR on a wet track.

8.Wapiti  if the inside is off he can swoop home down the outside with Lisa up.
