No quaddie for Trentham. We would have to spend around $1000 to get a good coverage for a decent percentage and the pool isn’t just worth it. So we will have a good go at the Doomben quaddie posted by 4 p.m.

No further bets. Check back by 1.45 for the Trentham quaddie

Good morning,

With Counties called off we only have Trentham to play with in new Zealand. Fortunately, I have gone through the Sydney and Doomben form and found a few good confidence and good odds bets. If you are in the Quaddie syndicate I will likely have one at Doomben and a smaller one at Trentham which I will post by 1.45 p.m. and 4 p.m. for Doomben.

There is a free login to the Formpro Ratings site with username Formpro and password gallops for the weekend as well. The video below may help you with it.

I’ll post an update by noon with any other bets as well.

Good luck

Friday update:

Wanganui Greyhounds:

Race 1

Confidence: 4/5

4.Bigtime Shine 2nd  maps to lead and the dogs either side say he should get a clear crack at the lead. He has very good acceleartion.  His ratings say he will win. $1.30, $1.50 FF

Race 4

Confidence: 3/5

2.Cawbourne Taber 4th beat home Cawbourne Krusty at Addington and it won the big race last night. Then he jumped fast again and was beaten by Cawbourne Krusty next up. Drawn to lead from the map and I can’t see anything beating her from there. RP $1.70, $2.00 FF

Race 8 Confidence:3/5

2.Sir Duggie 1st $2 maps to lead and with the 1 dog looking to duck down to the rail and the 3 dog slower away, he should be able to use his brilliant speed to drive to the lead and win. RP $1.70, $2.10

With the bog tracks in New Zealand, I’m looking to Australia for the better confidence bets of 3/5 or better.

Randwick

Race 1

Confidence: 3/5

7.Mickey Blue Eyes has  got back in both of his runs and hit the line strongly off slow tempos. This time, third up from a good draw, he has the blinkers going on and will land closer. He is a  strong 2yo colt ready to win. RP $4, Currently $8.50 FF but with 1.Graff likely to come out, there will be a 16% reduction to around $7 and $2.20- a very good eachway bet.

Race 5

Confidence: 3/5

4.After All That is flying  in fast run races, his last winning by lengths in the best speed rating all day with 60.5 kgs. He drops to 58kgs for this and he is fourth up. The negative is the lack of speed. But I’m picking Valadero and Bastia will go forward. But they may surprise on After All That if he jumps well as he won his debut at Scone showing good early speed to lead and win well in fast time. So don’t be surprised if he goes forward if he jumps well. Watch out for any notification of that to stewards. Either way, in the smallish field, I still feel he will be too strong for these over the last 100 metres. RP $2.70, $3.30 FF

Race 6

Confidence: 4/5

3.Live and Free 1st $2 and ridden to the script sprinted hard in fast closing sectionals beating Almighty Crown ( 3rd 6L away) and he won well next up in race record time and the 8th horse, Augustus won next up. He settled well in that and will obviously relish the extra 200m being by Savabeel. Drawn out and will be ridden quieter with the Queensland Derby in mind. The map says there should be at least an even speed and at Royal Randwick, with that rise in the straight, it suits horses like him who relax off the pace off a good speed and sprint hard. So just bad luck in the running will beat him. RP $1.70, $2.45

Race 7

Confidence: 3/5

3.Our Century was a dominant winner last start and can only improve off that. He goes very well third up and maps to get a winning run with the right weight. RP $2.50, $3.30 FF

Race 8

The speed map shows a fast pace in this setting it up for a closer.

Confidence: 2/5

6.Le Cordon Bleu made very good ground late last start for second over 1100m off an even tempo ( first 500m in 29.71 = 35.62 for 600m ) He ran third here to top sprinter Spieth over 1100m when they ran 28.49 for the first 500m, then won at Canterbury when they ran 33.91 fior the first 600m over 1200m and we were on at $21. They are likely to go closer to 29 seconds for the first 500m in this which will suit. He has had injury problems but that last run showed he was ready for a peak effort now and they have the right race for him. Drawn midfield and will likely settle behind midfield, but this track, despite the 5-0-1 record ( That placing was behind Spieth ) suits him ideally off  fast pace. RP $8, $21 and $5 place FF

Doomben

Race 3

Confidence: 2/5

12.Tumultuous in January beat Sedanzer, the $4 favourite for this, over 2200m on a dry track in a fast time of 2.13.98. He was caught in the slower ground here last start and blew out late. He gets back on to a dry track this time. and Chris Waller will have set him for this race. Drawn to do nothing around midfield and with Kerrin McEvoy on board, should get his chance to upset these. RP $10, $$21 and $6 place.

Race 7

Confidence: 4/5

1.Impending 1st $4.10 and is the Beaudy Barrett of the Thoroughbred world. is a very good horse who won the Stradbroke here beating the smart In Her time. he was too good fresh up and closed very hard late second up here over 1200m. So third up, over 1350m, the same distance as the Stradbroke, means he has been set for this perfectly. Drawn out but even three wide with cover, where the rail is likely to be off, he should just mow these down. RP $2.60, $4.80 FF

Trentham  ( Why do we bother betting on bog tracks like that! )

Race 1

Confidence: 2/5

4.Blue Rata Anna last start on a heavy 11 track put her head down and kept finding for second. Fitter fifth up and looks the one. RP $3.50, $3.70 FF

Dangers:

1.Grinner fitter now and gets 4kgs off. Nice galloper.

3.Bella Nero  found the line hard last start and a heavy 11 track won’t bother.

Race 2

The speed map shows

Confidence: 3/5

2.Art Deco looked very fit fresh up and won easily. Gets 4kgs off again and has won on a heavy 11 at Tauranga. And won 5 from 9 on a heavy track. RP $2.00, $1.60 Ff

Dangers:

4.Strolling Vagabond  should lead and with the good form here, is the one Art Deco has to run down.

1.Nashville obvious danger – tempo against last start and gets 3kgs off in small field.

Race 3

Confidence: 3/5

1.Rosewood has the best FRs on heavy tracks and gets 4kgs off with Wiremu Pinn on board. She ran third to Dolcetto at Awapuni beating Art Deco and Francaletta. Drops in class and likely to have been set for this. RP $1.80, $2.30 FF

Dangers:

5.Veracious has won here on a heavy 11 track rating 103.6 which makes her the main danger as she won second up last campaign.

Race 4

Confidence: 2/5

5.Master Platinum ran a strong closing 4th in the big sprint here last year. He was run down late last start over 1550m in a stronger R75 field and jumps back in class here peaking. RP $4.50, $6.80 FF

Dangers:

10.Dark Princess big run fresh up and was a bit one paced last start at Riccarton after covering ground. May be looking for more ground now.

2.Spondulux  drew wide and won well last start. gets 4kgs off again.

8.Dal Sir Tee  has won well here on a bog and has an ideal action for it.

Race 5

Confidence: 1/5

12.El Bayardo won this race  last year on a heavy 11 track and he ran the race of an improver when fighting on well for third in the slower inner ground last start. On 54kgs has to be hard to beat. RP $5, $11 FF

Dangers:

9.Hard To Be Humble fought on well last start and will be fitter for this. Ran a game second here last campaign on a heavy track and is tough. RP $5, $7 and $2.40 FF

2.Sylvester  won well here two back and fights hard.

6.Princess Dillon  won well fresh up and is tough suited to a slow in the bog.

Race 6

The speed map shows good early speed from 7,9,10,and 11 and the outside is likely to be the place to be swooping.

Confidence: 2/5

6.Paddy Bourke was doing his best work on the line last week behind Manhattan Street and he goes well here. Maps to get back on the outer which will be the ideal place to be as they are very likely to be getting out wide to win. He gets in on a nice weight with the 2kgs ( Maybe 1.5kgs)

Dangers:

4.Casaquinman has really improved ion last two runs mainly because he can settle better. There looks to be a good pace again here. The query is the bog but if he can get out wide, which he should be able to, he will be a realistic chance.

5.Manhattan Street  looks back to his best which is pretty good on wet tracks. The query is the inside draw. If the inside is ok, he can definitely win.

3.Dougie has won on a heavy 11 track and with 4kgs off, is in this. Almost won fresh up last campaign and Peter Lock doesn’t travel unless they are ready.

Race 7

Confidence: 1/5

8.Dreams Of Platinum racing well and drawn to get to outside if that’s the place to be.

Dangers:

11.Last Chance good third fresh and rates well on a heavy track.

5.That’s Funny has run second here over 1200m in an R75 race over 1200m ans also won on a heavy 11 track. Drawn the inside so needs a good ride.

9.Pure Daze won fresh up last campaign on a heavy track.
