I’ve been through the Wanganui fields and keeping in mind there have been around 120 horses go round in the recent invisible Levin jumpouts, plus a track that is very likely to be biased towards the outer at some stage, but we don’t know when on the heavy track, I can only find one horse to select with good confidence. He is detailed below. I have also included the Formpro Rated bets runners on a heavy track in the last quaddie.
That allowed me to spend a fair bit of time going through the Addington harness fields tonight as well and I’ve narrowed it down to one very good bet.
1.No Change won here on June 3 last year over 1590m beating She’s Poppy and Boxachocolates who have both gone on to very good form. The time was only 4 lengths slower than the WFA race won on the same day. And that was after a second placing over the hurdles. He comes into this with an easy win over hurdles last start. He has the the best FR on a heavy track and it was that race he won here. He strikes a field either looking for more ground, looking for better ground, or needing the run. So with the bonus of having Troy Harris on board, we know he will be ridden to get every chance of winning where he maps to share the lead. RP $2.20, $3.60 FF
13.Hundie 2nd after Dexter fell asleep with the leader getting a soft time up front.
Two starts back came from 4 back outer after breaking from a stand early over 2600m and won decisively running his last 800m in 56.06 last 400m 26.57 off a race set up for front runners. Then last start from a stand again he broke and got 4 back on the pegs pulling his head off and was late getting clear, ran on well but that early pulling cost him and he battled late. He’s a bloody good horse destined for better things and can quicken off a slow or fast tempo and Dexter has stuck with him over Alta Shelby which you can understand. Drawn badly but that’s just boosted the price from less than $2 to over $2. RP $1.70, $2.30 FF
Best Rated runners in order on a heavy track over the last year plus or minus 400m
10-2-8-1 ( include 13 as she was a smart trial winner and bred to handle it.
