Matamata

Race 1

Confidence: 2/5

5.Stole The Show three starts back ran on well over 1400m in the fastest last 600m of the race then next up, also closed off hard in the second fastest last 600m of therace. Strangely, he jumped straight to 2000m and was caught wide and was gone on the turn. Back to 1600m with Christopher dell on, who is riding with very good judgement, can get him going at the right time and be a realistic chance at good odds.

Race 2

Confidence: 2/5

2.Deluxe Edition won fourth up last campaign and looks set to repeat that patter. Last start, he ran on late after being help up and Rebecca Scott, who rode him in that win last campaign, jumps back on with 4kgs off. Drawn wide but there looks to be good speed up front, so if he can snag back and get cover then track into it, he looks a nice eachway chance at nice odds.

Race 3

Confidence: 3/5

1.Codecraker strikes a weak field and ran a strong last start when just beaten. RP $1.90, $1.40 FF is too short.

Race 4

Confidence: 2/5

2.Imblaze has won three out of four races here and strikes a weak R75 field. With the 3kgs off again she does looks well placed to win. The 31 days off is a concern though. She has won after similar breaks but it is always a concern on a heavy sticky track.

Race 5

1 and 6 should fight this out.

Race 6

7.Ironbark drops back in class with 2kgs off and is a chance.

2.Simply Impeccable an obvious chance after two strong seconds but too short.

1.Repo Sun 1st $9.70 gets 4kgs off and with 2 trials under his belt, can win fresh up

Race 7

Confidence: 2/5

2.Suggestive Heights ran a strong second last start and strikes the right field to go one closer. RP $4.50

Dangers:

4.Magic Canon won well last start and confidence will be high.

9.Raaj with the light weight can upset.

Race 8

Confidence: 3/5

2.Lothbrok 3rd $2 looks set to win third up. Fresh up over 1600m he got back and settled well, then ran on strongly late in the slower ground over 1600m. Second up he went to Wanganui and secured the trail over 2000m then got stuck in the slower inner ground while the first and second horses were in the better ground. Being a big strong fella, he will be improved by those two runs and the blinkers go on now, which will sharpen him up, so from the good draw, he will get a good run from Jason Waddell. RP $3.20, $5,20 FF

Sandown

Race 1 1.55 p.m.

Confidence: 3/5

1.Alfa Oro 2nd after caught napping. was very impressive winning on debut when bouncing well and relaxing 2nd outer, then took over on the bend going strongly and bolted away with an action of a good horses to win in the best speed rating all day. The step to 1300m looks ideal and from the good draw will get every chance. RP $1.90, $2.30 FF
