Update:

Two Sectional Specials racing in Australia today

Murray Bridge

Race 2 3.45 p.m.

Confidence: 3/5

7.Troublesome Lad 2nd after getting too far back and charging too late last start second up kept closing strongly for second over 1200m in the best Speed Rating of the day for a maiden. He will relish the 1400m third up now. He has drawn wide but Woodcroft has drawn just inside him who will go forward, so he can get a nice drag over with him with not a lot of early speed inside them. So he can get handy one off and from there, where he is peaking third up now, he looks well placed to win against an average midweek lot. RP $1.90, $2.35 FF

Canterbury

Race 2 3.55 p.m.

Confidence: 3/5

1.Bubblesintrouble  2nd after working hard early and getting nailed late  on debut drew widest of 12 and sat 3 wide in the open on an even tempo, kicked away on the turn and bolted in. The sectionals and speed rating backed up what we saw. Then second up in a $100k race at Rosehill ran a close third. Freshened up and trialled quietly from the rear running on under her own steam for 4th. Drawn to use her early speed to settle handy and looks too good for these with Hugh Bowman up. RP $2.30, $2.70 FF

Once again we have a Heavy 11 track at Te Aroha that could mean they will run anywhere from 1.30 for the R72 1400m to 1.50., plus if your horse isn’t a chance of keeping away from the inside, how can you back it with any sort of confidence as its is such a biased track? So I have only previewed the late quaddie as that is the only bet worth having there.

On Monday, I went to the Te Teko trials and posted a video review of the first seven Open heats here for subscribers. There are a handful of runners that are set to win fresh up.

I Am Queen, the smart filly from NZ, makes her debut in the sixth race at Sandown. She has drawn well but strikes a big strong field. She’s currently around $7 so watch market moves on her.

I have two Sectional Specials for Australia and maybe one or two for the greyhounds today. They will be posted by noon.

7.Caballo Noir  2nd $3 qu $63  if right can upset.

11.Magic Wonder 1st $10 debuting and travels up from Wanganui.

Race 7

1.Thenamesbond just keeps on winning here

6.Perry Mason 1st $3.80 which was good value after the trainer of the main danger said he was 20kgs over his last racing weight- good info Trackside! looks the obvious danger.

5.Highly Likely could do it if the above two have an off day.

Race 8

5.Sweet Treat won well here and fair afterwards.

1.Merlot 2nd  impressed on debut.

6.Senassy has the best FR on a heavy track in the last year.

9.Keen To Keeper drawn out which will be a plus.

Race 9

1.Vincentius  1st $2.70 tri $47 almost won last start. Looks the obvious with 3kgs but the bog beet him at Avondale so no anchor.

4.Prodigal Son 3rd $2 strikes a weaker field after a good run last start.

6.Moet Molly 2nd $1.50 won well here in June and stronger fields since.

8.Princess Raaj game 4th last start. Inside draw no help but 4kgs off is.
