I’m not sure which is worse- watching the Warriors or horses go round on boggy tracks!

Race 1
Confidence: 2/5
11.Magic Wonder beat home Caballo Noir here last start and did it easily in the end. Hasn’t started since which won’t help but will have targeted this race since then. RP $3.60
Dangers:
2.Caballo Noir last start here put it altogether and won strongly. He will have gained confidence from that and against a weak field, can test Magic Wonder.
4.Kokanee Gold is likely to run another placing
Race 2
Confidence: 2/5
1.That’s How It Goes ran a game second to Perry Mason last start and that has been franked since. Jumps well and gets 2kgs off. RP $2.70, $3.10 FF
Dangers:
2.The Arabian Duke won impressively at Trentham and looks the main danger.
Race 3
Confidence: 1/5
2.Zartan almost won on debut jumping well in front. Can only improve with that and will relish the heavy 11 track. RP $4
Dangers:
13.Raiseinasandpit game second to Gallante who is a real chance to win the big one today
5.Master Poet good third here and kept fit since with a flat run.
Race 4
Confidence: 2/5
12.Gallante could not have won his maiden hurdles race here . he skipped over his jumps and the hot favourite, El Luchador, was well beaten when he fell at the last. He finished with plenty in the tank and although this is a step up in grade, he would trounce these on the flat. He was reported to be a proficient jumper before that race and he showed that he most certainly was. He can win this alright. RP $4, $7.50 FF
Dangers:
3.Jackfrost the obvious danger with a flat win last start after a dominant win at Riccarton.
1.Zedeedudadeeko won this race at Ellerslie last year and will relish a slog in the bog.
Race 5
Confidence: 2/5
1.Resurrect game second here last start. Drawn 5 which will allow him to get out wider. RP $2.70
Dangers:
4.Mutechi keeps on getting better. Nicely weighted but inside draw is a negative.
Race 6
Confidence: 3/5
6.Hello M’Lady did very well last start in a stronger field. With a nice weight advantage here, she maps to settle 5th outer, so from there, with an even tempo likely with three on pace runners, she should be able to get to the better ground out wider and be too good for these. RP $1.90, $2.40 FF
Race 7
Confidence: 2/5
7.Old Countess made up a big slice of ground over the last 600m here behind Perry Mason, which is just what you want to see going into this 6300m race. Michael Mitchell to ride the winners of both big races today. RP $3.70, $4.20
Dangers:
3.Chocolate Fish is certainly capable of winning this back on a heavy track.
4.Perry Mason has won his last two very strongly but 6300m will test him.
2.Shamal won so well at Riccarton, you can’t leave it out here.
Race 8
Confidence: 1/5
6.My Gift won well when ridden more aggressively here last start. Up in class but down in weight and drawn away from the rail. RP $3.60
Dangers:
2.Switch In Time racing very well and drawn wide which will be vital.
7.Deluxe Edition with the light weight and a good ride, could upset.
Race 9
Confidence: 2/5
1.Call Me Bob two strong wins and gets 3kgs off and drawn out. RP $3.00
Dangers:
2.Kensington didn’t back up last start. Needs a good ride from the inside draw, but could do it.
4.Just For Kicks won well last start and may try for an ll the way win.
Race 10
Confidence: 3/5
3.English Gambler ran a game 2nd at Taranaki just behind a good speed and fought hard. This is easier and he just seems to be getting better with each run. Jason Waddell will give him every chance from that draw.
Danger:
4.Leica Warrior gets 2kgs off and drawn wide, which may allow him to get out wide and cause an upset.
