Tauranga

The rail is out 8.5m and usually suits on pace runners

Good morning,

Apologies for the poor run we are having lately. It tends to happens to us all and when it does, I just work harder to find those winners. It may not happen overnight, but it will happen!

There are some open fields today and often the market movers do well at meeting like this here, so watch out for them. I will post an update by 1 p.m. and any multi makers as well.

Good luck,

Neil

There are no Good confidence bets today but one good value bet.

Race 3 5.Stacey Ann $11 FF and $3 FF

Race 1

Confidence:2/5

8.House Of Cartier in her last trial settled behind the leaders on the rail and once she saw daylight, drove through with a bit in hand to win well. Very nice looking filly out of top mare Shez Sensational who looks the part. Nigel Tiley has her ready to win. Negative is she may get off the speed a bit and rely on a decent tempo, but Matt Cameron will likely get her going early and she looks a really interesting one to watch for tin this. RP $4.40, Opened $6.50 Ff and into $4.60 FF

Dangers:

1.A Proper Lady battled well against good 3yos fresh up. This is a drop back and fitter.

7.Zaniah  looked good winning her trial. Wide draw makes it harder.

Race 2

Confidence: 1/5

3.Saint Croix has done well off tough runs recently. Drawn to get all favours this time and is value at $12.50 FF RP $6.50

Dangers:

4.Stand Tall  ran 2nd fresh up last campaign and won a recent trial.

6.Poppy Star won well fresh up last campaign after a quiet trial and trialled ok recently.

9.Raspberry Sweet ran a strong finishing third here over 1400m. Drawn well.

Race 3

The Speed map shows Stacey Ann likely to cross and lead and Seirios sliding over and getting 2nd outer with Swissta handy as well. A Moderate tempo is likely suiting on paced runners.

Confidence: 2/5

5.Stacey Ann game second last start rating 106, 1 below her best of 107 when she led and was run down late at Hastings in a $30k R82 race over 1600m. She is fitter now and maps to lead and she ran a close  third here at this meeting in an R65 race last year. Peaking third up and is very good value at $11.50 Ff, RP $4.80

Dangers:

10.Chou Chou  looked a definite improver from her fresh up run. Drawn ideally to drive through and place.

2.Gold Spice drops in class and fitter now.

7.Seirios won very fresh up but was flat second up. Fitter and Opie jumps on. Likely to get 2nd outer or press on and lead.

Race 4

Confidence: 1/5

10.Imelda Mary two nice runs. Fitter now and 1600m suits.

1.Goldilicious solid 2nd last start and very fit.

7.Lady Henrietta well bred and will be ready to fire on debut.

11.Initiative two nice runs last two starts. Fitter now.

Race 5

Confidence: 1/5 in an open race

6.Nothing Trivial  two good runs after a break then caught wide third up and tired. Has won 3 times here and gets 3kgs off. RP $6, $13 FF

Dangers:

7.Podravina  looks like she will relish more ground now.

10.Uabasso much better third last start and her win was here over 2150m. Drawn to upset.

9.Recollect won on a Good track and good run last start. 2100m suits now.

4.Poker Face in career best form and up to 2100m suits now.

Race 6

Confidence: 2/5

1.Luen Yat Miracle ran on well fresh up and has won here twice over this distance. Drawn to get a good run.

Dangers:

6.Katie Perrie  had to be good to win last start. Fitter and Sam Collett knows her well.

8.Inscription is a nice mare who goes well fresh. Trialled up nicely in a very strong heat.

7.Alphastar  has the blinkers going on and drawn the inside. Gets 3kgs off and may hunt out and try and lead and upset them.

Race 7

Confidence: 1/5

7.Don’t Lie To Me three good runs since a break. Needs luck from a wide draw though.

10.Our Beeskees strong finish second up and fitter now.

13.Tocado has the blinkers going on from the Baker/Forsman stable. Good 2nd in his trial before debut.

14.Azabeat has shown enough to include in quaddies with the blinkers going on.

Race 8

Confidence: 2/5

11.Sevamani confidently expected to win on debut after smart trial win. Good recent trial win when 2nd outer and won easily in 2nd fastest heat. Ready to go this time.

Dangers:

12.Pinultimate good trial last start coming through strongly for third in a good field.

8.Amano bold finish on debut and looks a nice galloper.

7.Queen Sweep led and was swamped late in her trial. Drawn to lead.
