At Addington there are two good bets.

Race 7

12.Ultimate Sniper 1st $1.50  is just a class or three above these. Big powerful pacer with Natalie Rasmussen behind him. Only very bad luck will beat him. Can sit parked and still win well. $1.50 Ff

In the Cup. 1.The Fixer 1st $3.50  ticks moist boxes.  Peaking off a strong win last start after a slight injury. Natalie Rasmussen chose him over stablemates. Begins well and with the Purdon team in there, he is going to get a good run and he races relaxed like a stayer. $4.20 Ff

Te Aroha

With big even fields it is advantage bookies so don’t get sucked into having a bet on most races there. I’ve also detailed a couple at Addington. But no quality bets today

The horse with the most potential racing there is in the third race 12.House Of Cartier. She is out of top mare Shez Sinsational who won 11 races and her half sister won last week at New Plymouth.

In her debut she jumped evenly and settled nicely midfield. She started to get moving just after the 600m but was pushed wide and checked badly and almost fell. She ran on late after that for seventh and the form has been strong out of it. In her trial before that she settled 5th inner and drove through late without being pushed and won easily in the fastest of the 9 heats. The third horse Wondering, ran a strong second on debut. Sam Spratt rode her in that trial and she jumps back on for this. She maps to get a good run in the first 6 and from there she can win. She’s not a quality bet as there are runners in here debuting that ran nice trials that you can’t really get a good gauge on that could be very good. I rate her a $2.80 chance and she opened at $4.20 FF

Race 6

1.Pont Alma rated strongly FR 100 when 4.5L 7th in the Royal stakes running on wide in good sectionals. Nice run fresh up and will get back and can win if they go hard enough but is no anchor for that reason.

13.Quality Prevails  ran on strongly for 2nd second up and 1600m against her own sex suits.

3.Cabochon  strong 3rd last start and fitter.

2.Valmur  looked good closing off on debut for 2nd and gets 3kgs off.

Race 7

1.August Edition rated an FR of 107 fresh up over 1600m in an R82 race. Drops in class with 4kgs off. Just needs to rate around 104 to win this with the 4kgs off and drawn to get every chance. Has run third twice second up.

6.Motivation  two solid seconds and has won here over 1600m. Nice horse but drawn wide and Opie isn’t riding with his usual great judgment at the moment so is no $2.10 chance.

4.Cutting Up Rough racing well and drawn to get all favours. Can run time.

Race 8

A real toughy. Any one of six runners can win this. In order: 3-9-8-10-4-6

Race 9

Also a race that favours the bookies. If I could set a book on this race at 130% I would be odds on to win, so be careful. There are only three horses that can’t win and the ratings agree with me, which has 10.Georgethefifth on top after weight adjustments because of his good 6th in an Open handicap last start and drops back in class. But you can make a case for many others. 8.Seconds Out  can run the times over middle distances and gets in well with 3kgs off. Both are paying double figures.

6.Aongatete Express  ran a good 6th in a stronger field last start. Has won here and drawn well. 3.Uabasso  was stiff last start and is favourite but hasn’t won for a long time. 2.Neddy Nadeem  maps to lead and get a soft one, so could pinch it. 4.Window Dressing is up in class but looked good winning his maiden. 7.Morrelmac  two good runs closing off well. More ground suits. 9.Lucky Dreamer is ready to win and just needs a good run.

So I can’t narrow it down from there so take them all.
