Veine D’Or winning easily for the Tauranga Punters Club
Firstly, not only can you get full access to all the ratings, replays, speed maps, the predictor and more for the Palmerston North greyhounds today, but you can get selections for all races from David, who knows that track extremely well, as he does all the sectionals there. So if you have the afternoon off, you can get access to all the information you need to back a few winners here.
Last week we started off with the best bet and value bet winning at Hastings, Champagne Bride $2.90 and Lady Amadeus $6. Owen Patrick was the best performance of the day as can be seen in the sectionals off the front here.
Chief Sequoyah $3.50, Sacred Day $2.60 and Sweet Nineteen $9.40 were three winners from the six races at the Ellerslie twilight meeting. Then on Friday, I had the responsibility of doing the Tauranga Punters Club with a number of Subscribers being able to get involved as well. We started with a combined pool of $6,060 and the first bet of $1500 at $3.20 FF was on Express Call who was able to hold on after kicking clear. Then in the next race, I agreed with on course announcer, Andre Neill, that Yamuna was the birdcage standout, so $1000 on at $3.80 Ff went on. Once she angled out into the clear and balanced up, she put them away. The day started to look a bit brighter!
Then in the next, it looked an even go but Come Back Tiger looked rock hard fit and relaxed, had the credentials to win, so $1000 on at $6 FF. It is a definite advantage being on course seeing the horses in the birdcage. Unfortunately there were a couple of late scratchings so after he held on well to win with a top ride from Opie Bosson, the balance was now $16,620 after deductions.
Veine D’Or was a mare I was really looking forward to seeing in the birdcage. Last start she sweated up badly before the race and just battled home at Rotorua. So if she looked fit and calm in the birdcage we were on. She did, so $3,000 at $3.70 FF was put on. But unfortunately, a young lady, Kendyll Lee, who was leading a horse in the birdcage, got kicked very badly by another horse. First Aid was on the spot quickly and we were all pleased to see her move her hand. It took about 45 minutes to stabilize her and get her off to hospital in another ambulance. I have three daughters and I really felt for her and her family, especially just before Christmas.
Anyway, after the horses were brought back to the stabling area while she was being attended to, they were taken around to the start again. Veine D’Or still looked ok. She landed three back on the fence, and was travelling sweetly with nowhere to go 600m out. But luckily, with the good pace set by Rich Billie Marsh (Ran the fastest average 200m to the 600m mark of 11.78 – sectionals here), the gaps opened up and she bounded away to win easily. The new balance was now $24,720. The thought of guaranteeing a payout of $40 per $10 share was very tempting, and I wasn’t strong on anything in the next race so rather than put $480 on a horse, we decided to donate it to Kendyll. The payout was announced on course and everybody was in agreement with what we did. And Kendyll is making a slow recovery in hospital allowing her internal organs a chance to start to recover under expert supervision. The next Punters Club, where Subscribers will be able to get involved again, with updates before each race, will be held on January 2nd.
Saturday was not great with just two of the five Quality bets coming in, Fiscal Fantasy and Gift Of Power. But the highlight was the Money Shot being on course at the Sevens in Tauranga. After the first two missed, he said get on and get plenty off North Harbour -17.5 at $1.85 which they covered easily. And the other three bets all came in too. Then on Sunday morning, he told us to get on BOP to beat Northland and the reasons why. The odds were $2.30 and by start time had been thumped into $1.25! They just won 41-0!
Bet of the day, Cutadeel $2.40 FF won very well along with value bet of the day, Le Castille $5 to finish the week on a positive note. There were seven Quality bets for the week with a nice profit shown. This week, we have races in the North Island on most days. If you haven’t got the time to do the form yourself, then you can get access to my selections and summary of the races right through the mad Christmas period for just $10 a week. The new and current password can be heard at 9 a.m. tomorrow morning ( Tuesday morning) along with the main selections for Ruakaka. The new password can be used till Thursday December 27th, which will include selections for 9 North Island meetings.
The Money Shot and I will be doing another vidcast later this week where you can win a $20 multi bet. Subscribers who watched last week’s vidcast would have done ok with two selections coming in. You can still win this week’s $20 multi, for any viewer, below. (Closes Monday night)
