Wednesday Hastings preview below

Good morning,

It is a fine day on an improving Dead 6 track. No Quality bets. Rock On Wood in the last has a couple of negatives against him with the big weight and he will get back, but I just feel with the even tempo likely, he is good enough to overcome those.

Dratini is also a good horse ready to win fresh up.

Bet of the day Race 8 1.Rock On Wood $3.20 FF 1st $3.90

Value bet of the day Race 7 5.Miss Labasa $10 FF

Multi of the day Dratini ( Race 4)  $2.80 into Rock on Wood

Suggested late quaddie $14.40 for 20%:

R5   4, 6, 8
R6   1, 5, 7
R7   1, 2, 4, 5
R8   1, 4

Race 1

Confidence: 1/5 in a tricky race

1.Foggy Lyttle has run two strong placings and peaking now with J Parkes up. RP $3.40

5.Rekohu Diva ran on well fresh up and has the ability to win a maiden.

8.Away Cruising is a definite improver from her third here.

2.Visconti in his recent trial led and wasn’t pushed when run down late.

Race 2

Confidence: 2/5

3.Just Fabulous was a strong winner here last start in an easier field. Good third before that though in good field. Drawn to get all favours. Negative is 57 day break. RP $3.20

1.Langkawi  goes well here and will find this easier.

4.Lady Blue with a freshener should be right on the pace.

Race 3

Confidence: 2/5

4.Harlem ‘n’ Co almost got up last start when late clearing traffic. Scrtached from a wet track on Saturday for thus and looks a nice race fir him. Big strider who will relish 1600m third up. RP $3.00

7.Chill fought hard after a soft lead here last start and is the main danger.

8.Red Beach  ran home well fresh up and from the inside draw is a chance.

Race 4

Confidence: 2/5

2.Dratini is a good horse who looked like he would be better this campaign. In his recent trial he got back from a wide draw and was never pushed to run  distant 6th. He looked more professional as well and the small field will allow him to settle off what looks to be ab even tempo and Parkes can bide his time and strike at the right time. RP $2.80

4.Euka Lady looked good leading all the way to win at Wanganui in a very good speed rating after working early. She has natural speed and seems to relish her racing, so can repeat the dose again from the good draw.

1.Your Welcome  looked good winning at Matamata. This is harder though.

Race 5

8.Contessa Vanessa looks nicely placed here to get a good trail or may lead, and with the light weight, be the one to beat.

6.True Enough is in great form and if left alone in front, could prove hard to run down again.

4.Beafeater  drawn to get a good run with 4kgs off.

Race 6

1.Soleseifei drawn to get all favours and 4kgs off. May put pressure on early as best suited to a staying test not a sit sprint.

7.Lucetta nicely weighted and drawn to get a good run.

5.Akela Belle  won well here then was caught wide next up. Back here she will be harder to beat with a better run.

Race 7

Confidence: 2/5

5.Miss Labasa showed her potential when winning in better splits and race time than the open handicap at Awapuni two starts back. She had her chance at Ellerslie but disappointed. maybe it was the travel or going right handed. She is better than that and with the blinkers going on can go forward and with a good run on the pace, beat these. RP $5, $10 FF

1.Imelda Mary got all favours last start and won well. Tough and should be in this.

2.Queen Of Diamonds  with a good run on the pace, has to be a chance.

4.Sentimental Miss  did very well last start and if they go hard, will be hard to keep out.

Race 8

Confidence: 2/5

1.Rock On Wood  is a good horse and showed that he is ready to win fresh up with a strong trial win coming from last to win drawing away full of running relishing his work. he beat the smart Sherrif last campaign and is going to win more races than any of these. There is a  good tempo here so looks set to win fresh up. RP $2.50, $3.20 FF

4.Windsor  with the 4kgs off again, should be right in this after almost winning last start.
