Awapuni
Good morning,
Apologies for the delay. Golden Age looks the best horse by a couple of lengths in race 6 and with half a decent run should win. Tinkalicious looks like she can get a soft lead and will be very hard to peg back in race 5. I liked Deerfield’s debut second in race 3 today and the time and form makes him a solid chance. Wallaceville did well last start and should get the right run in the last race today. I’ll post an early preview of Saturday by 2 p.m. with an update by 5 p.m. along with Heads Up. No Quality bets today. Heads Up now posted here
Good luck,
Neil

Race 1
Confidence:2/5
6.Don’t Know Jakk closed off very strongly late last start and is right at his peak now. RP $3.00
Dangers:
8.Bella Nero ran a good third behind Jakk last start and fourth up will be very fit now.
Race 2
1.Katiem Marie looks well placed here against a weak field with 2kgs off. RP $3.40
Dangers:
2.Deep Blue ran on strongly behind Marie last start. J Parkes may make a difference.
4.Stunning drawn to get a good run.
Race 3
Confidence: 2/5
2.Deerfield ran a strong second to Euka Lady in a good speed rating last start and she won well again at Hastings. Gets 4kgs off, so looks well placed against this average lot. If he can get him on the rail, that will help him as he lay in last start. RP $2.40, $2.70
Race 4
Confidence:1/5
2.Broadway Brawler may try and lead all the way here and the money has come for him. RP $6, $11 Ff
1.Kapinos keeps going well enough to keep you keen. Drawn wide here though so may place again.
Race 5
The speed map shows Tinkilicious likely to set a moderate tempo with pep Torque 2nd outer and Hank Moody trailing. a slow tempo very likely suiting the first 4 in running.
Confidence: 2/5
4.Tinkilicious is going to be in the right spot leading in a moderately run race to be hard to run down. Rated a career best FR of 109 last start and this is easier. RP $2.60, $2.70 Ff
Dangers:
1.Hank Moody freshened up and drawn to get a cosy trail.
7.Pep Torque was beaten by a moderate tempo last start. Likely to not let that happen here and be put on the speed 2nd outer or may even lead. RP $7 so $16 FF is nice value.
Race 6
The speed map shows a moderate speed suiting first 4 runners.
Confidence: 3/5
4.Golden Age almost got up last start when he unwound late and almost got up and he’s found the right race to win now fourth up. Negative is the wide draw but I’m sure Te Akau will have worked out a game plan for him to win this as he cost $350,000 and is a good looking galloper. With half a decent run, should win after looking at the rest of these in their trials and recent runs. RP $1.80, $1.75 Ff
Dangers:
10.Torque Straight in its trial trailed then 3 back inner, strong finish to win well.
2.El Pablo in his last trial drew wide and bounced well to be 3w on the pace then eased 1×1. Ran home well for a close second without being pushed. Big ask on debut over 1550m but should get a cosy run on the pace with 2kgs off.
1.Cullen Bohannon has had many chances and looks a place chance again from the good draw.
Race 7
The speed map shows Arturo likely to hunt through and lead and Sasanqua 2nd outer then maybe snag to 1×1 with maybe Powerball going forward to get 2nd outer- a moderate tempo likely suiting on pace runners.
Confidence: 1/5 in an open race
2.Arturo didn’t beat much on debut but looked really good doing it. Nice looking galloper drawn to either lead or trail and be the one to beat from there with the moderate tempo likely. RP $4, $4.40 FF
Dangers:
1.Powerball may slide over 2nd outer here and control the tempo and the way he won last start, means he has to be right in this with 2kgs off.
7.Sasanqua won well last start and bred to be good. Maps to get an ideal run.
6.Lady Rudolph looked good bolting in last start but maps to settle 8th outer off a moderate tempo, so will find it hard to run over some of these, so no value at $4.40.
Race 8
The speed map shows good speed early out wide with Yes M’lady and three or four others looking to get in behind her- an even tempo likely suiting all runners.
1.Wallaceville last start was going well in behind the leaders but blundered losing 4 lengths and momentum, but unwound nicely late to run fourth with a nice action wanting more ground. The 6th horse, Hingis, has won since. The 1400m will suit now and should get a good run behind the leaders and with the 4kgs off, looks set to break out now. RP $4, $6.50 FF
Dangers:
7.Fagiolo Majico got home nicely to almost win last start. drawn to get all favours with Lisa Allpress up and early money has come for her.
2.Take A Gamble good second on debut and didn’t get the gaps when needed second up. Sam Collett will suit.
8.Keltic Rockstar has run some good closing sectionals and if they go hard, which is possible, she could swamp them.
