Update: No further bets at Rotorua
Update 10.25 a.m.
If you are looking for something to multi Marbuzet into I’d suggest Felaar at this stage. Here is the reasoning:
7.Felaar in the Formpro Ratings was giving 6 kgs to Artiste the winner, and rated a career best 112, which actually puts him on top here after weight adjustments. Plus, if you factor in that he will have improved with that run after a 27 day break and trainer Stephen Marsh said before his previous start he couldn’t wait to get the blinkers on him, you could expect him to improve at least 2 lengths on that last run which puts him 3 lengths clear of these after every runners weight carried is taken into account. There looks to be enough tempo in for him to settle midfield or worse and get his chance to get out and get over these with just 53kgs on him. Plus Leith Innes wouldn’t put himself through the pain of getting down to 53.5kgs unless it was worth it. He won with authority at Otaki on a slow track and looked more comfortable left handed. RP $2.20, Currently $3.30 FF
Rotorua
Good morning.
The track has come up a Slow 7 after a bit of rain last night. They were very tricky fields before the rain so a Slow 7 makes it even more of a bookies benefit day. I strongly suggest saving your money for some better bets on Saturday. I’ve sorted out two bets but no Quality bets there. I’ll post an update by noon with any other bets. An early preview of Saturday will be posted by 5 p.m. along with Heads Up.
Race 2
Confidence: 3/5
1.Marbuzet missed – didn’t handle the ground. in both of his last two runs has looked to be battling on the turn but has come back for 4th in a much stronger field over 1600m at Ellerslie on a heavy track and 2nd at Tauranga in a good form race. So the step to 1950 looks ideal against w weaker field that he has met in his last two starts. Should lead or be on it and left handed looks like it will suit him better as well. RP $1.90, Currently $1.80 so no value and is not a quality bet because of that.
Race 9
Confidence: 2/5
11.Pokuru Wild 1st $7.10 is a nice mare and would have gone close to winning fresh up with a clear run. She handles a wet track ok and looks very strong now. Should land off the fence midfield and be in the right place to strike. RP $5, $5.50 FF
