Race 4 12.53 p.m.
Confidence: 3/5 Quality bet I feel Shooters Hill is right at his peak for this and is at his ideal distance, whereas Dusty isn’t at his peak or best distance and is vulnerable.
2.Shooters Hill 3rd after getting his chance.
On Sunday at Auckland he was last at the end of the back straight and looped the lot to win going away over 527m. You hardly ever see that there. And the closing sectional of 14.48 is the fastest run there in the last three years! Pinny Mack, one of the best C5 dogs in the country won later in the day but could only manage 14.86 and Jinja Bailey ( 2nd) 14.72. He has the fastest time of any of these, including Dusty Gambler, over this distance here over the last 6 months over the 650m when he bolted in here in March. He was beaten by Dusty Gambler here on April 11 but he hadn’t raced for 28 days and 747m is just too far for him. Drawn 2 and hasn’t got early speed, so should land near the back, but he has good race sense so at the end of the back straight he will start picking the five others off one by one and should be leading on the turn and have enough of a break to hold on comfortably to beat these as he is right at the peak of his form. RP $1.90, $4 FF and is a Quality bet.
1.Dusty Gambler at $1.45 FF has been going ok over 747m but his ratings since a break have been 40-13-and 7 which is nowhere near what he was achieving when he was at his peak.
Shooter has beaten Amy Amy and Deception Diva here easily over 650m so should have those covered.
