Update 11.51: No further bets.

Good morning,

Firstly, if you would like to be part of the Tauranga Punters Club this Saturday, where I will be doing the selecting and punting for it, subscribers can join in here. We combine our syndicate with the on-course one and usually have around $5,000 to bet with. I’ve been able to twist their arm a little and have the option of betting on another meeting if I’m really keen on one or two there, plus the last race as well. It just gives me more options rather than being restricted to the usual five races from race three.

The Quality bets made a small loss last week. On Saturday, especially in Australia, where I felt many favourites could get beaten but couldn’t confidently find the one or two that could beat them. There will be plenty of other days where I do feel confident I can find them, so be patient and cross your fingers, which always seems to help.

Today we have Oamaru racing on a Good 3 track which could throw up the odd good bet, especially in the head to heads which I will post by 12.15. There is one bet there I have posted. She is not a Quality bet because of the number of days since her last start.

Oamaru  $10 multi returned $85

Race 4

7.Sulu Sea well ridden to bolt in. $2.50 looks well suited to 2200m after she closed off hard late last start in a good last 600m which compares well to the better class distance race and shorter races. Maps to get a good run. Nice looking filly who is stronger now and has a good stayers action. The negative is the 33 day break. RP $2.70, $3.20 in from $3.70ff

Whanganui greyhounds

Meeting 3 Race 5 1.14 p.m.

Confidence: 3/5

3.Bigtime Dynasty smart dog used her brains to stick to the rail 1st $2.30  ran a game second here from box 2 when leading and was run down by Here’s Hemi in an adjusted time of 30.78, which was faster than her main rivals here today on the same day. She has drawn in box 3 and 2 is slower away and 1 can get away on occasions. Her early box speed is very good and she looks for the rail and should be able to get that. From there, with two of the three best times here, she can lead all the way. RP $2.40, $2.65 FF
