Nice start to the week with 3 from 3.
No Quality bets today but two nicely placed animals in New Zealand who are solid eachway chances, Gifted $7 and $2.50 and Sahara Pippa $6 and $1.85. They both map to get ideal runs and have shown enough to win. I’ll post an update by noon with any other bets. If you would like to be involved in the Terminating Pick 6 syndicate, please deposit by Friday night.
Race 4 4.35 p.m.
3. Haut Brion Her 1st $1.60 looked good in her fort two runs running good speed ratings. She looked a bit weak so was spelled by Chris Waller. In her last trial she looked much stronger after settling 3rd outer and when clicked up showed good acceleration to win easily. Her action is ideal for a slow to heavy track and Waller has her set to win in the right race fresh up. She maps to get a good run and Blake Shinn will have time to make his run a winning one. RP $1.80, $1.90 Ff
Race 7 2.54 p.m.
6.Gifted 1st $9 after leading all the way. has done very well in both of her runs so far this campaign. She has been caught wide and in her last win, she worked the hardest of anything handy 3 wide in the open and was pulling away at the end, which is a sign that she can step up to this grade alright. Drawn well to settle around midfield or maybe closer with an even tempo up front and weighted to be hard to keep out. Her breeding and action tells us she needs a Dead or better track to show her best. She also looks stronger and is racing better this campaign. So despite being up in class, there is plenty of upside to her and she ticks a lot of boxes. RP $5, $7.00 FF in from $7.50 and is a solid eachway chance.
2.Jin Lu looks her main danger but is giving her 5kgs.
4.Red Rose Warrior won well last start over 1800m in a good speed rating so you can see why the money has come for him. But he is carrying 2kgs more and will likely get back and rely on luck and tempo to get into it.
Race 3 12.39 p.m.
8.Sahara Pippa 1st $5 and showed that closing sectional was a very handy bit of info. looks ideally placed here from box 8. She normally jumps well and looks to get out wide then cut down nearer to the rail. She has the best opening sectional here and the second best closing sectional. Last start here over a sprint, the trainer took off the head gear and she flew out and led all the way in a good time and very good closing sectional when compared to the better class dogs on the day. So back to 520m, which she has raced strongly over before, she looks set to lead or be second outer into the first bend and has to be hard to run down from there. The favouite, the 3 dog, Zipping Romeo, is a big dog and takes few strides to get going and tends to run out early, so from that box, can find trouble early while Pippa is off and gone ( hopefully) . RP $4.50, $6 and $1.85 Ff
