No Quality bets today. A multi worth taking though could be Race 1 2.Teen Titan a place $2.00 FF, Race 2 2.Lily The Pink $1.40, Wanganui dogs race 5 3.Thrilling Roar win $2.40 FF  $10 returns $67.20

No Quality bets so far today. I’ll post an update at noon with any other bets though, and there may be one in those.

The track has remained a Slow 7 after they did not get as much rain as expected. The weather is fine. The last meeting here on August 28th the track was a heavy 10 and rail out 6 metres. Winners came from: Lead, 3 bk innr, 3 bk innr, 2nd outer, 12th outer, 2nd outer, lead, 6th outer, 3 bk innr.

So 8 of the 9 races were won by runners 6th or better in the running. With the rail out to 10 metres, you would think that pattern would not change, so looking for on pace runners, especially in races likely to be run at a moderate tempo.

Bet of the day Race 2 2.Lily The Pink $1.50 FF

Value bet of the day Race 1 2.Teen Titan $5.50 Ff

Race 1

Confidence: 2/5

2.Teen Titan  ran a very good second here last start when 6th outer and came quite wide on the turn, while the winner, hugged the rail and got a winning break. He made up very good ground late for second and should land handy again. Chelsea Burdan, claims 3kgs and is a good apprentice.RP $4.50, $5.50

5.Shezathinka has the best FR in the field from her Hastings second against better horses. Improver from Taupo where she loomed and blew out. Opie jumps on.

8.Cape Gem ran an improved race for third second up and 1600m suits third up.

Race 2

Confidence: 3/5

2.Lily The Pink is a nice galloper and was outsprinted last start fresh up. Fitter for that and her action says a slow track is ideal. Pretty short but from the Baker/Forsman team will have the winning polish on her. She rates clearly on top in the Formpro Ratings. RP $1.60, $1.50 FF

Race 3

Confidence: 2/5

6.Clementina has beaten many race winners after racing against some good fillies last campaign and rates 5 lengths clear of these on what she has done so far. The negative is she will get back off what looks like a moderate tempo, but Matt Camerom is likely to try and jump her out early and get handy, or if she gets back, move early and she could still be too good. RP $4, $3.40 Ff

9.Jutanugarn fought hard last start after being 2nd outer. Fitter and may get a softish time up front.

7.Shebringsmerubies  is an obvious improver and if she can settle handier, could be harder to run down.

Race 4

Confidence: 3/5

2.Glenhope won impressively here over 1200m on a heavy 10 track and the money said he was going to win like he did. His action says an improved track will only help him. The 1400m will suit even better and looks hard to beat. RP $2.70, $2.80 FF

5.Enjoy The Show  should come across and either lead or be handy. Good race at Hastings in a stronger field. Looks the only danger.

7.Soda got a well deserved win last start. Fresh up but should get all favours.

5.Lord Valentine game second fresh up and tough run second up. Should get all favours here and fitter.

Race 5

Confidence: 2/5 where anyone of the three below could win this.

7.Heart Of The Ocean looked good running second at Ellerslie. She looked stronger winning a recent trial and if the inside is ok, is the one to beat.

4.Super Sid looked good running home strongly from last in his last trial. Ready to go.

1.Harlech is a good looking galloper who will win at least one race but will likely get back and 1200m could be too short. Pam Gerard said, ” He may be a bit vulnerable this time but Cameron is super confident!”

Race 6

Confidence: 1/5

6.Katie Perrie ran a very good second in her trial and had a bit to offer. Looks in for a good campaign.

1.Lala Land gets 3kgs off and has to be a realistic chance.

2.Hay Tiger ran a strong second to Lala Land last start.

7.Sunny Rose rates on top in the FR and could get over these fresh up.

Race 7

Confidence: 2/5

11.Amasecoya ran home strongly for third last start and will be fitter for that being her first run over ground. Her dam, Amirar, won three in a row over middle distances on slow and heavy tracks. RP $2.80, $2.90 FF

12.Barbara ran on well for third fresh up and more ground will suit.

9.Kajino could be the upsetter. Looks a natural stayer.

1.Eachway has had a few goes and $2.60 is too short.

6.Hang Qui  rated well last campaign and with 3 kgs off, is the blowout.
