Update 11.59 a.m. no further bets today

Good morning,

The comments I’ve heard from riders, trainers and owners make it difficult to back horses here that race behind the leaders with the kickback from the sand in the horses faces. If you can find a dominant leader and it has the form to win, then that seems to be the best way to go.

There is one Quality bet today at The Whanganui greyhounds and it is a multi with the two dogs below:

Idol Fancy Pants into Big Time Tatum: 4.8 units at $4.08 returns 19.58 units Yes 14.8 units net profit.

Value bet of the day Te Rapa race 3 5.She’s A Smash Hit $4.80 FF

An update will be posted by noon with any other bets.

Race 3

Confidence: 2/5

5.She’s a Smash Hit 1st $4.80 after leading all the way  on debut led at Ruakaka and was run down late over 1200m. Then second up there, she jumped well again, led, trailed 900m out and fought hard for a close third in a handy maiden field. That was over 1400m. The drop back to 1200m suits with her natural speed and being third up now and fitter, and she maps to lead with Major Billy Lister outside her, plus she gets 3kgs off with the capable Chelsea Burdan up, she should take some running down. RP $3.80, $5 Ff

Dangers:

1.Major Billy Lister worked hard for the first 600m and stuck on well here last start, but gives She’s a Smash Hit 5kgs.

9.Run To Perfection  looked good winning his trial settling midfield and wide and striding home impressively wide out to win. But he has drawn wide and likely to cop the kickback, so that could stop him.

Meeting 3

Race 5 1.33 p.m.

Confidence: 4/5

1.Idol Fancy Pants won really well here last week from box 2 in fast time for the day. She had been drawing out and going very good races beofre that. Box 1 is ideal for her as she usually jumps cleanly and with her early speed, should hold the lead and be too fast for these having the fastest adjusted time of any of these on the last 90 days. RP $1.50, $1.70 FF

Whanganui dogs Meeting 9

Race 5 4.29 p.m.

Confidence; 4/5

8.Big Time Tatum won strongly here in good time last week in the same grade and is suited by the 8 draw as the 7 and 6 dogs tend to look for the rail so that will give him a clear crack at the lead into the first bend. he has the best times and closing sectionals here so with a clean jump, this nice looking actioned dog, should be too fast and too strong. RP $1.70, $2.40 FF
