Last 600m off the front showing tempo etc here

Last 600m in order here

Race 1

Rip Em Up  had the race set up for her when a fast tempo was set up. Won strongly but wanted to lay in.

Hattie Bee  got well back and ran on okay again.

Anna Cecilia  did well first up over ground and can improve off that.

Race 2

Tokorangi played up before the start but he soon led and once balanced up, showed very good acceleration to kick right away and win easily,

Race 3

Phantom Witness was a bit slow away but was hunted out to lead and relaxed after being a bit keen. Once he turned for home he put a few lengths on them but did things wrong but was till too good- just! Will obviously improve with that and looked better with a sit in his trial.

Midnight Magic ran home strongly in 34.49, the fastest last 600m all day, for second and is a nice improver.

Race 4

Mannie’s Power  did well to be a on a a solid tempo (11.76 average 200m to the 600m mark) and still win well.  Lavaglo  had the race set up for it and ran home strongly- 1600m suits.. Combat Queen  ran home nicely and will be improved off that after a 28 day break and back to 1600m.

Race 5

Osaka was well ridden to just take a sit early and got a nice track into it. Led after turning but was headed by Intelligent Patch who had worked to get up to him but Osaka had that extra strength over the last 100 metres to pull away from him- strong horse and 1600m will suit. Intelligent Patch 34.85 and fifth fastest last 600m all day in a good speed rating ) was much better with a sit and there was a gap to the rest. The Garrison had his chance again. Spacek  ran home well late as she did in her trial. Half sister to 11 win Sucre and has ability.

Race 6

I thought that time of 1.34.60 had to be incorrect but it was correct. It was hard to see that coming from Roll The Gold  but it was a good run last start even though it was a soft lead, so it makes Byzantine‘s win and Salt Bay who finished 2nd look good who beat him home at Tauranga.  Starrybeel closed off nicely and over more ground will be harder to beat. Leaderboard  will be improved by that run – no chance with the winner getting away.

Race 7

Meghan was given a 10/10 ride by Leith Innes in the trail where she settled well, got out on the turn, led and was too strong with the moderate tempo. Annalone closed off nicely for 4th and was held up late. Tempo was against so good run.
