3.Pondering has been going good races in the North Island and he looks nicely placed here to get a good run in behind the leaders from the inside draw, if he jumps away ok! That is the key as he can be a bit slow at times. Terry Moseley should suit him with his vigorous style. The favourite, Danny Green, has had his chances in slow speed rating races. Secret Runner is likely to lead and set an even pace, allowing Pondering to work his way into it near the turn and get over them late.  RP $3.50, $4.20 FF

3.Swiss Eire won second up last campaign over 1200m on a Good track after running a game second fresh up. He later won at Riccarton over 1400 on a slow track sitting second outer. Fresh up he ran a solid third over 1200m looking like he blew out over the last 50 metres. Drawn ideally here to get a good run behind Our Prom King, and with the 2kgs off, he rates very well to win this. RP $2.70, $2.90 FF

2.Big Time Chad  1st $2.80 last start here put in a huge run after going up with the lids and getting well back, then showed good race sense to pick a path under and around other dogs and kept closing hard to run a close second. His closing sectional of 11.79 was very good on the day. he has drawn box 2 and he is normally not that fast away but there isn’t a lot of early speed except from 3.Dyna Bryleigh who is likely to cross and lead. If he can jump away ok and land about 6th, with his race sense and now that he is right on top of his game, he can weave a path through these and win. RP $2.50, $2.90 Ff
