Good morning,
You can get free access to the Palmerston North Greyhound ratings, speed maps, replays etc here
David will also be posting his selections later on too.
No selections for the Southland meeting today. Some handy results over the last few days. Magic Incanto, the value bet of the day at Wanganui, led all the way paying between $6 and $8 with a good front running ride by Tony Allan. On Saturday, The only selection in Oz , God Of Thunder which I made the bet of the day, won in the last couple of strides after being held up paying between $2.20 and $3.20, and a lot more in running. Opie Bosson gave the speed map special, Virtuoso Lad at around $4, every chance to get up. He only has one sharp sprint, as Opie mentioned after the race, and he timed that perfectly. Starrybeel was the big disappointment as the value bet of the day after getting a good run. But that disappointment was made up for with the Gisborne value bet of the day, Chosen Peak, winning well at around $5 to $7, and the bet of the day, More Wonder given a perfect ride by Ryan Elliot to bolt in getting up late paying around $2.40.
Catalyst did us proud putting it right to the Alligator. I was glad to see him ridden positively rather than being ridden back and running home for a 2 length second. He now gets my vote for the All Stars mile.
This week, we see the Avondale meeting called off because of the lack of nominations. Then we have two very good meetings at Matamata and Otaki on Saturday which will have good stakes and fields. So I’ll be concentrating most of my time there. The GOAT and I didn’t make Polzeath a standout in HEADS UP here but he was very keen on the Highlanders at $2.50 to make a comeback and they sure did, even though it was in the very last stride! Magic Incanto got a mention which was well ridden by Tony Allan. You can still enter the $20 multi comp by answering a simple question which closes late tonight.
Good luck,
Neil
