BGP plunge comes off and Sunday Specials

Good morning,

What a great day of racing it was yesterday. The Murray Baker/ Andrew Forsman trained Quick Thinker, our only Quality bet for the day, showed tremendous courage to hold on to win the Derby after leading on the turn. Opie said he raced keenly for most of the race so to do that and still win, speaks volumes for the horse and trainers. The Zoom online Boys Get Paid Punters Club was terrific, bringing some fun and excitement during this tough time. Around hundred people were online enjoying the banter with pre-race and post race comments.

The Punters Club started with $125,000 and after a few collects and some near misses ( $12ok if Melody Belle had held on for 3rd) Luke Kemeys, the leader of BGP, after a confident prompt from the GOAT, went all in on Rubisaki for $70,000 at $2.50!  After doing no work 4 back inner and travelling well to the turn, Nash Rawiller just had to find her room to unleash here. It took about 200 metres to get that fresh air at the 200m mark. And when she did, she just went ” Bang” and drew out much to the delight of all the BGP followers. The plan is to do it again next Saturday so if you want to get involved, join the Boys Get Paid Facebook page ( It is free) and the link will be up there later this week.

Luke is going to be interviewing Brendon McCullum, live on Tuesday night, and he is a man who loves his racing as well as his cricket, so don’t miss that. Luke is also taking questions to ask him as well.

Today, I’ll sort out a Best bet, Value bet and suggested quaddie and see if it was just a fluke getting those up yesterday at Randwick. Nice to see many subscribers got a slice of the $5,000 quaddie at Randwick too. I’ll post that by 2 p.m. If you like Hong Kong racing, there is a very good meeting on today starting at 4.45 p.m. I can thoroughly recommend Hutchishonkers as Clint Hutchison, from Get On, knows the form extremely well there and previews every race with his recommended best bets and units to bet on them. I’ve had an excellent season with his selections, especially with the quaddies. It cost $12 for a full meeting preview.
