No joy with the quaddies but an excellent return for the Quality bets with 28.4 units returned for the 11.8 outlay.  Stockman $11 was the one who made the money. Symphonette $3.80 won very well as a 3/5 confidence bet and was well ridden.

Update 4.15 p.m.

It is a very open quaddie likely to pay big so have avoided the Brisbane and Randwick quaddie and put the money that could have spent on those, into this one.

Update 2.00 p.m. Next update by 6 p.m.

Just the one Quality Bet so far for Saturday

Heavy 9 and unlikely to improve

Race 1

Confidence: 3/5

7.Overlord looks well placed here third up on a heavy track. Closed off very strongly in fast sectionals here last start and his breeding and galloping action says he will relish the 1300m on a heavy track third up from the Waller stable. RP $2.50, $3.00 FF

Race 3.

Confidence: 3/5    Quality bet  2 units eachway at  $11 and $3.20 FF

8.Stockman won very well last start over 1600m on a slow to heavy track with an ideal action for a slog. His breeding by Tavistock, out of a Zabeel mare Crimson, who won 5 races and excelled over a middle distance, means fourth up,  he looks a very good eachway bet. RP $5.50 $11 and $3.20 2 units eachway for the Value Staking Plan

5.Reinvest and 3.Foxborough are queries for me on a heavy 9 track and are too short.

Race 6

Confidence: 3/5 Quality bet 2.8 units at $3.50 FF

10.Miss Einstein would have won last start with a clear run, no doubt. Last campaign she bolted in on a heavy track third up in a very good rating as the day got worse at it went on. So third up again, fighting fit with one of the best wet track riders in Australasia, Jason Collett, she can settle at the back and track her way into it and be too good for these in the last 100 metres. RP $2.50, $3.50 FF

2.Bold And Wild – we were on fresh up and he won well with determination. His breeding and action says a better surface is needed to back him with confidence.

Sydney quaddie preview

Race 6 First leg.

10.Miss Einstein  does look the best anchor in the quaddie and happy to go short with her as she has a definite advantage over the others on a heavy 9 track.

Race 7

With plenty of speed in this race likely, it will come down to who gets the right run.

In order:

Race 8

Open race: In order: 1-3-9-4-6-2-12

Race 9

In order: 3-7-9-1-6-2-13-18

Murray Bridge

Race 6

Confidence: 3/5

10.Symphonette  some of us are still waiting for  her to get of the pocket she ran into last week! This time, she draws out again and there looks to be much more speed in the race, so she should get her chance to power over these late. She certainly has the times and ratings to win it. RP $3.40, $4 FF

Eagle Farm

Track Soft 5 with a fine forecast

Race 2

Confidence: 3/5 and is a Quality bet. 5 units at $3.30 FF

10.Thy Kingdom Come was beaten by the smart Phaistos last start in the shadows of the post and Phaistos next start, just went down in the Listed Scone Cup. Drawn to get a good run and right at his peak and he finds the right race to win now. RP $2.00, $3.30 FF 5 units using the value Staking Plan

Race 6

Confidence: 3/5

7.Isotope has been very impressive in her two wins running times and Speed Ratings and sectionals better than older horses in good class races on the same day. She maps to get a nice sit behind what should be at least an even tempo and at set weights looks too good for these over the last 100 metres. RP $2.00, $2.30 FF

Race 7

Confidence: 4/5

5.Kinane  showed just how good he is when winning very impressively last start. My review of that race can be seen here. The negatives would normally put you off with a wide draw from the 1800m start and the month between races, but he just needs a half a decent ride from Maloney to clean these up on the big Eagle Farm track. RP $1.90, $2.00 FF

Race 8

Confidence: 2/5

11.Deep Image last start second up here began well, sat 1×1, led 200m out and was just nutted. he will be fitter for that and he could get a soft time on the pace here as these are all looking to get ready for the Stradbroke. RP $6, $10 FF

Race 6 First leg of the quaddie. An open one with no standout. Any bias will have to be taken into account.

The speed map shows an even tempo- there could be a bias towards the centre and wider.

In order:

6.Haunted has done enough to forgive him that last run. Good form on Soft-heavy and back to 1200m is a plus. Inside draw?

7.Milwaukee  strong third last week when leading and being swamped late. Wide draw could be a plus.

10.Miss Iano nice run last start and best ridden quiet and right draw to do that and get to best part?

2.Malibu Style  close up 4th here last week and fitter for that. Soft Track form is good.

1.Home Of The Brave last start got a good run 2nd outer in an on pace race yet weakened 150m out over the 1100m. He tends to get his head up and get a bit keen so hard to see him on the pace here over 1200m with more pressure and beating some of these. Fresh up ran third to Gytrash and Sunlight, so may have been a bit flat second up. ran 2nd to Brutal in a top sprint on a Soft track.

13.La Tigressa  goes well fresh and handles wet tracks. Inside draw a query- note any bias.

14.Lord Von Costa won very here on a Good track. Has won on Soft tracks and has had two trials to get ready for this with Craig Williams up.

3.Rich Charm fresh up got caught in a pocket and had a bit to offer on the turn but just could not get clear. Has won on soft and has 9 wins from 25 starts.

4.Rox The Castle did ok last start – had the toughest run in the field and only flinched late. He’s a nice horse and is fit now. Drawn out and that could be a plus down the straight by this time of day.

9.Rich Itch  beat Romancer here and goes well second up and drawn wide which could be a plus. has a dry track action.

8.Romancer drawn the inside so a query there. Goes well here and best form is over 1400m or more. Watch betting and any bias. has a dry track action but good form on Soft- be wary on a heavy biased track

5.Great Again  fresh up had every chance in the trail and was gone 250m out. Has won 6 from 8 on a Soft track in Perth- watch betting.

11.Holbien  ran second to Tactical Advantage here over 1200m and third was race rival Milwaukee. Only 4 wins from 28 starts. Last start over 1000m here was gone 300m out. Start before here over 1100m gambled on the rail and was swamped 150m out.

Race 7

The Speed map shows a moderate tempo suiting runners in the first half of the field but any bias will obviously have an effect.

In order:

10.Aussie Nugget in strong form after a solid closing 2nd in a good SR last start and is a live chance.

15.Duke Of Plumpton is looking for 1800m now and wet track a plus. Should land 3 back inner and get his chance.

9.Arctic Shock in solid form and will be a good chance on pace. Out of NZ mare Art beat who was very good in the wet.

11.Supre won in just an average speed rating last start but did it with plenty in hand. Top rider and can step up here on a wet track and 1800m will suit.

1.Masaff all form is on dry tracks and ran home well fresh up with a dry track action.

2.Nobu  ran on ok last start on a soft to heavy track. If same can get beaten. Blinkers on helps though.

6.Southern Rock import on debut last start did well when ridden out to get handy but was caught 3w open but after losing a few lengths to the 300m, rallied back late- Drawn wide so if inside is off, which it can be by this time of day, he could upset- 4 wins from 9 starts and 1800m and further is going to suit him.

20.High ‘n’ Dry ran on strongly in a weaker field last start after a good run and only won one from 13. Up in class and looks covered by a few here.

4.Mr Reckless  best form on dryer tracks and didn’t do enough fresh up. Likely to need this and watch next up.

Race 8

The speed map shows Shot Of Irish and Al Passem out wide looking to share the lead.

In order:

13.Shot Of Irish  is in great form and he makes his own luck out in front. Up in class but gets in on a winning weight.

2.So Si Bon  is also racing in career best form and gets 2kgs off.

5.Django Freeman debuting but has the form to test these if ready- market will tell.

1.Pacodali  ran a very good 4th fresh up when he drew wide, beagan well, snagged back to the rear and unwound strongly for 4th in a good field. Has won twice second up and gets 2kgs from a good draw.

4.Reykjavick  ran a good third two back on a 1.11.3 for 1200m track fresh up. Second up drew wide and had to work too hard for the first 500m and tired. Third up and fitter.

7.Mr Marathon Man  ran against top horses in Group 1 races last campaign. He has had two runs back now. last start reared at the start and settled last but was doing his best work late. Fitter third up- gets back and will need an outside bias to get over some of these.

11.Savvy Oak closed off nicely late fresh up and will be improved by that. Won here over 2000m and if they go hard, he could upset -ok action for a wet track.

8.Double You Tee  ran four strong races in a row over 2000m against good horses. Dis nothing after a freshen up just not handling the heavy track. Likely to want this for a middle distance race third up.

16. Danon Roman won fresh up last year over 1600m but all form on dry tracks and action says he needs that.

17.Star Missile has his best form on dry tracks  so beatable.

Race 9

In order

11.The Astrologist  obvious chance after sa bold finishing third wide out at Caulfield. Form and action says he will relish a heavy track. ran second to classy Rubisaki last campaign.

1.Hilo  good run last start off a tough run and the winner won well next up. Drawn wide but Olly is on and if the inside is off, can win.

6.Roccobascerana has top form on Soft tracks with 3 wins from 4 starts and forgive his last start. Could lead them a merry chase for a long way.

5.Alburq two solid seconds on wet tracksand very fit now. gets in on a nice weight with 1.5kgs off.

15.Lombardo was impressive in a weaker field on debut but won with plenty in hand. Soft ground a query.

7.Can’t be Done has raced well in strong fields. Drawn wide which could be a plus and handles a wet track well.

9.Absolute Flirt  had her chance on na heavy track and ran a battling fourth. Heavy track query.
