NZ Harness starts back up again, sectionals and the Predictor

Little Scamp top rated in the Predictor on Tuesday in Race 2 makes it 33 meetings in a row where the Predictor has selected the winner by the sixth race.

Good morning,

It has been a few weeks but Harness racing finally kicks off again. Punters are going to be relying heavily on trials and workout form but I’m picking many horses will be set up for a good old fashioned punt with the smaller stakes. Some will come off, some won’t, but it mean the bookies will have to be on their guard. Addington and Alexandra Park will be doing their own sectionals as they were doing before lockdown, and we will be doing the Cambridge and Invercargill last 400m along with the tempos. That information is going to be very helpful for serious punters. They will be posted by Tuesday afternoon. No selections today. I need all the time I can get to do the form for Saturday. There were only three Quality bets last Saturday but those three bets took about ten hours of homework. I have a list of around thirsty horses to go through and then weigh up how well placed they are, then only put in the ones that are at good value. Stockman looked very good value based on his last start win, speed rating, breeding, and galloping action. But what swung it was the main dangers looked unsuited by a wet track. he got up in a good fight and actually got out to $15 in some markets close to start time. The Quality bets continue to perform long term making a very good Profit and I’ll be posting the results of them over the last year next week.

For the Formpro Ratings followers, you may have noticed the increased strike rate of the Predictor. Over the break, David tested many different algorithms to find the best one and the results have been outstanding. There have been just over 30 meetings since they restarted and in every one of those meetings, the Predictor has selected the winner within the first six races, and most of them within the first four races. With a sensible loss chasing betting plan, a very healthy profit would have been made. Even if you just worked around the top Predicted runner for all races and used the other information and replays available on the site to eliminate the losers, your strike rate would be even better.

I’ll be posting an early preview of Saturday by 2 p.m. tomorrow.
