Update 3 p.m.

No Quality bets and no bet for the quaddie syndicate as it looks like it won’t pay a lot. Back again tomorrow by noon 2 p.m. with Cambridge harness selections and maybe one or two from Australia.

It is very hard to find anything at value today, but the two head to heads below at Canterbury, on a heavy 9 track, look very good chances.

Bet of the day The multi with the two head to head bets below at Canterbury . $10 returns $28.90 at current prices. Missed Suggested Sale quaddie for $38.40 for 10% missed in the last leg when 2nd.

R6   1, 3, 5, 8
R7   2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11
R8   3, 4, 7, 11
R9    1, 2, 5

Race 1

Head to Head Tight Ropes $1.75 to beat Rocketing By. Tight Ropes trialed very well leading  all the way. Has the crossover nose band on and has the right action to handle the ground whereas Rocketing By does not and should be a few lengths off Tight Ropes on the turn.

Race 4

Head to Head  Chalmers $1.70 to beat Galahad’s Quest. Chalmers, who ran a game second on a similar surface here last start, has much superior form to GH on a wet track and his action says he should have a good advantage over GH even with the 3kgs difference.

Race 6

Confidence; 2/5 One of the four below should take this out unless something else is a strong mover.

1.That Girl brings the best form into this and is ready to fire fresh up after a good jumpout run. RP $2.50, $2.30 FF

3.Pay Your Dues has good form fresh up with a couple of good placings and is ready to fire up after a very good jumpout win late last month.

8.Japery  won well second up with a good run. This is harder but with natural improvement and a race fitness edge, could do it.

5.Pereira  nice horse in a new stable. Drawn to get the right run.

Race 7

Confidence: 1/5 with a few chances.

In order: 7-8-9-6-2-11

Race 8

Confidence: 2/5

7.Walking Flying  drops back in class and distance and this stable is very good at placing their runners. So even a wide draw might not stop her. RP $2.60, $2.30 FF

11.Magazine is peaking now and hasn’t had all favours. Drawn out so needs luck to its way.

3.Into Rio  was lame last start and has the ability to win this. Betting will give a guide to how ready it is.

4.The Sidekick is fitter now and a good track will suit.

Race 9

Confidence: 2/5

1.Designer Chief is in top form and maps to get every chance. If inside is ok, is the one to beat.

2.Uluru is a  nice horse and looks the main danger.

5.Vladivostok drawn to get all favours in the lead or on it and if the pattern is in its favour, can win.
