Just the one bet today and it is a good quality bet. I’ve been through the other  fields and there is just no value there.

Manukau Dogs

Race 8 2.57 p.m. Quality bet.

Confidence: 3/5 and is a sectional special

6.Hit Zone yes $3.60  last week over 318m draw box 8 and jumped ok and once balanced drove through to lead and drew clear to win in 18.62 and a 13.81 closing sectional, which bettered most better class races. The start before here, over this distance, he drew 4 and got squeezed back. When he got wound up he ran into a pocket 100m out, switched around heels and charged home for 3rd in 14.97 ( adjusted to 14.85 with no interference ) which was better than most C5 dogs and better class races! He is a big dog suited to a wider draw here. The 7 and 8 dogs keep their line and are generally slower away, and the 5 dog can be slow away and tends to look fir the rail anyway, so if he jumps cleanly and gets near the pace around the first bend, they simply won’t be able to run home as fast him and he should win. It all hangs on that first 100 metres. RP $2, $4.20 FF 6.3 units at $4.20 FF 26.5 units returned for a 20.5 unit net profit

5.It’s A Laugh  looks the main danger and is at $2.30FFbut the last two times he has started here, he has missed the jump and got in trouble early. And when he has jumped he looks to get down to the rail which will also aid Hit Zone in getting a clear run if he does jump better. Some dogs just don’t react as quickly with the lure at this track and he may be another example, so is too short at that price. Plus he is a query about seeing out 520m after he just won on Thursday over 375 in slow time and wasn’t that strong past the post.
