Update 3.58 p.m. Stormy Rock has held his price whereas the main danger Faraway Jewel has drifted. The second race was won by the leader who came well off the rail, about 4 or 5 out, to win. Kerrin McEvoy will likely be happy to sit 2nd outer so he can angle out there on the turn and with a moderate tempo likely, he is going to take some running down. Paraded well according to the birdcage lady. Good bet. Just over-raced and dropped out. Having them stand in the gates for so like while they muck around I’m sure didn’t help his cause! – was found to be lame after the race.
Update 3.30 p.m. I’ll update the site 2 minutes before Stormy Rock’s race with a confirmation that everything looks like he is a good bet or not. If I have a bet for the Quaddie syndicate, I’ll post it by 4.45 p.m.
I’ve been through the Whanganui dog fields and can’t find any value, but there is one horse racing at Warwick Farm. I’ll post an update by 3.30 p.m. with any other bets or a quaddie for the syndicate.
Race 3 4 p.m.
Confidence: 4/5 Quality bet 4.5 units at $2.40 FF
2.Stormy Rock ran a game second two starts back on a heavy 8 track. Then last start bolted in, in a very good speed rating and has the size and breeding to say he will relish the extra 100m to 1300m. Drawn to lead or be 2nd outer on a moderate tempo and a soft track is ideal with his action. Kerrin McEvoy has ridden him in two of his trials ( one they led all the way) and his last two runs. The last being his only ride for the day when winning, so he does think a bit of the horse. Looks very hard to beat. The main danger won well last start but got all favours coming from the back up along the inside, and will be giving Stormy a decent head start here on the turn. RP $1.60, $2.40 FF
