The TAB have introduced a new bet option called Winsurance. It is where you can get your money back if your bet finishes 2nd, 3rd or 4th which you can choose from. The plus with these bets are that you get your money back if they finish in the specified placings, and you aren’t outlaying extra money for the place bet to get some of that win money back. The negative is you are taking lesser odds but if they are still above your rated price, they can be worth the bet. Plus, if you multi them up, and they do place in that specified range of placings, your multi is still alive. So if you are selective, you could do well. I’ve found a few bets in Australia today that are recommended for Winsurance bets and the two main bets today at Pukekeohe are also recommended to take at the Winsurance 2nd option. Betting on heavy tracks is always a decent gamble so if you can minimise your losses at a price around your rated price or better, it can be beneficial, long term.
