Friday 18 September preview below

Good morning,

Some nice bets here and in Australia below. No Quality bets. The early preview of Saturday is here and will be updated by 6 p.m.

Bet of the day Newcastle Race 6 1.Mugatoo $2.15 FF 1st $2.30

Value bet of the day Newcastle Race 2 8.Sidearm $5 FF 3rd $1.90

Race 2 4.10 p.m.

Confidence: 2/5

8.Sidearm ran an improver’s 3rd fresh up when blowing out 100m out. Then second up improved really well to get back and came wide to charge home for third in a very good speed rating and the 2nd and 4th horses have since won. Tricky draw but if Tommy can get him in one off somewhere, he is a horse ready to win. RP $4.00, $5 FF

Race 6 6.40 p.m.

Confidence: 3/5

1.Mugatoo   has won his last two like a top class horse. He is a big fella with a massive stride. The Soft 5 / Good 4 track will be ideal for him and the 2300m is ideal. Very good horse who should be too god for these again. RP $1.80, $2.15 FF

Just a handful of selections here that have shown enough at their last start to warrant backing today.

Race 2

Confidence: 2/5

1.Jack The Ripper has shown the ability to win at least a maiden. He just needs a decent run. If he can get that he is a nice each way chance in this field. RP $6, $10 FF

Race 4

Confidence: 2/5

6.She’s Recommended 1st $4.10 last start the way she found the line behind the very smart Marine in the best closing L800, L600, L400 and L200m sectionals of the race means she can win at least a maiden. Nice stretch on her and just needs a run even 3 wide with cover, to beat these. RP $3.20, $3.90 FF

Race 5

Confidence: 2/5

1.Louie Louie  1st=  $3.60
One hundred metres out he had no show of placing but the way he got that big frame of his wound up and hit the line in the last 100 metres in the fastest L800,L600, L400 and L200 11.45 and the second fastest L200 all day, shows us he can win one or two more races at least. He handles Dead to Heavy tracks well. There looks to be plenty of speed in the race so if he can snag and get a track into it, he will prove hard to keep out. RP $4, $5 FF
Race 11
Confidence: 2/5
11.Never Back Down Last start drew out so snagged back to near last. The leader, Vee Twelve, ran the slowest of the 4 x 1600m first 400 metres in 26.67 so it set up for on pace runners. He had to look for gaps but once he found it on the fence, he motored home for fifth in the best closing sectionals, L80047.51, L600 35.33, L400 23.48, and L200 11.91 of the race. He has the blinkers on now and he seems to be relishing the South Island weather, so with a good run from the wide draw, he is a nice eachway chance in the last.
