Some interesting runners in today who have been trialing up well. I’ll post an update by 11.45 a.m.

Confidence: 1/5

10.Rising Road 1st $23 and $5  has been racing well on tracks that don’t suit her action. She strikes a better track here and can go forward and be a reasonable eachway chance with a moderate tempo likely. RP $8, $13 FF

Race 2

2.Vedo Rosso has rated well in stronger fields. He ran a close second at Ellerslie in an R65 $50k race in fast time.  Last start in a stronger R65 field was slow away and got trapped rear inner and was doing ok through the line. A Dead track with 3kgs off makes him well placed. RP $3.40

15.Kiki  looked good in her trail here drawing the inside and trailing well, but could not get out and was checking off heels late. Nice galloper and a Dead track looks ideal. gets 2kgs off from the inside draw. RP $8, $12

Race 4

9.O’Jessica  last start had to do extra work to get 2nd outer and was only outfinished by the handy Karma Lass over the last 50 metres in good time. with above average closing sectionals. Drawn to do less work early and ready to win. RP $3.40. $5 FF

Race 5

7.Kathie’s Choice is out of 5 win mare Everswindell who won the 2007 NZ Cup. The way she kept up a sustained run for third after getting bumped wider on the turn over 1200 metres, says she will relish 1400m. Opie jumps on so looks well placed. RP $2.80, $3 FF

Race 6

5.Entriviere improved a few lengths to win well at Tauranga and strikes a weak midweek R74 field. Looks a class above these. RP $1.30

 

Race 7 First leg of the quaddie

20.Sweet Hunter  1st $4 was relegated after holding on to win her maiden at Tauranga, but ran out. Should be able to lead again and being very fit, looks hard to run down with 2kgs off. RP $3.60, $4.20

Dangers:

9.Origineel strong second last start and obvious chance peaking now.

10.Feelin’ Fancy  well bred and nice 4th on debut. Up to 1400m suits with Opie taking over the reins.

Race 8

Confidence: 2/5

11.Tia d’Or 1st $3  is well bred and won her trail strongly here against race winners. Drawn to get all favours and looking forward to seeing her debut. RP $3, $3.40 FF

Dangers:

4.Global Currency  trialed well before an average debut. Will be fitter for this.

Race 9

Confidence: 1/5

4.When In Paris  has shown enough to be ready to win now with Opie replacing the apprentice. Fitter third up too. RP $4

Dangers:

3.Truefalls  good 4th on debut and drawn to improve on that.

13.Lovingyourwork  two fair runs and from the Baker/Forsman stable, they wouldn’t persevere with her if she wasn’t capable of winning at least a maiden. early money for her too.

5.Anzac Power  strong 4th on debut and flat second up. Drawn to get a winning run from the Marsh stable.

Race 10

Confidence: 2/5

8.Ever So Clever  looked very good last campaign. She trialed up very nicely without being pushed in both trials. Ready to strike fresh up. RP $3.50, $4

5.Golden Age  trialed very well also when not pushed out for third. Drawn to get all favours if the inside is still ok.
