Wednesday preview below

Good morning,

Some big even fields today on a slow 7 track. No quality bets. Sensei should be very hard to beat as he can get out to the better part of the track by this time of day. Zakunda will relish the 2000m today and looks hard to beat in the first. Ohio Showgirl  is a very good horse and if ready and the money comes for her, should win.

Bet of the day Race 1 4.Zakunda $2.70 FF 2nd

Value bet of the day Race 11 7.Lightning Jack $7.50 FF

Speed map Special Race 9 2.Sensei $4

Suggested late quaddie for $16 for 10%

R9     2, 6, 10, 12
R10   4, 5
R11    2, 6, 7, 8
R12    2, 9, 10, 15, 22

Race 1

Confidence: 3/5

4.Zakunda  2nd was a bit late getting clear on Saturday but when he got balanced up, came home hard and strong. The step to 2000m is ideal and just needs a decent ride from Michael McNab to win this. RP $2.40, $2.70 FF

Race 2

Confidence: 2/5

16.The Emporess on Saturday really flew home once out and the 2000m will be ideal now. RP $4.50, $6 FF

Race 5

Confidence: 3/5

7.Ohio Showgirl  2nd  was very, very impressive winning on debut here over 8900m. Then she went on to good form and was unlucky at Trentham. No trials since last year but if ready, with 4kgs off, will take a lot of beating. RP $2.60, $2.80 FF

Race 6

10.City Slicker 1st $4.80  solid second on Saturday and a slow track will suit. Up in class but down in weight and Lisa Allpress will give her every chance. RP $4.50, $6 FF

Race 7

Confidence: 2/5

1.Kiwi Ida  should win based on the ratings and the SW and P conditions but she ran third in this last year when a $3 favourite with Chris Johnson aboard. But it is hard to select anything with confidence to beat her. The $2.20 is too short so a good race to watch. Good lay

Race 8

8.The Gift 1st $6.50  had been promising to do what she did last start and has run two good races here. A Slow track looks ideal for her and with a good run on the pace, is a nice eachway chance. RP $8, $12 FF

1.Supreme Khan really stepped up last start and won well. If the inside is still ok, he has to be hard to beat again.

Race 9

Confidence: 3/5

2.Sensei  should have won this race last year and should have on Saturday as well. But that comes with the territory when you are a back runner. The map shows a torrid speed which is ideal for him. Drawn away from the rail this time and if the track stays at a Slow 7 or even improves, he should be very hard to beat. RP $3.50, $4 FF

6.Wekaforce  is the obvious danger after her strong win on Saturday.

12.Puysegur  ran a good race on Saturday and maps to get a better run.

10.Princess Amelie  ran a game third in this last year off a tough run. maps to get a better run here.

Race 10

Confidence: 2/5

4.Beached As Bro  was too good on Saturday and should get all favours with Lisa Allpress up. Hard to beat again. RP $4

5.Monkey Shoulder should get every chance and fight it out with the Bro.

Race 11

The speed maps shows Vigor Winner likely to got forward but if the inside is off, this could be a moderately run race with no obvious leader and runners wanting to stay away from the inside.

Confidence: 2/5

7.Lightning Jack  was a dominant winner in a weaker race last start. But he has a top trainer who has set him for this race and with Lisa Allpress on board, she will look to get him to the right part of the track to get every chance. RP $6, $7.50 Ff

8.Vigor Winner  almost won this last year. peaking nicely again for it and meets Hypnos better off in the weight. Plus he will able to stay away from the inside if that is off.

2.Hypnos  maps to get back on the inner which is unlikely to be the best place to be with a moderate tempo and inside being off, so $3.60FF is hard to stomach. 1st $3.80 with a good ride out of the barrier

6.Communique  is a very good mare with even better trainers. Has to be a chance.

Race 12

Confidence: 1/5

15.Raise Your Sights is a natural stayer and is very fit.

10.Ekstrememiss won well last start and a slow 7 is fine.

9.Hillersden  is a natural stayer and rates on top after solid 6th in a stronger field last start

22.Magic Ivan  will relish 2500m
