Update 11.17 a.m. No further bets
Some tricky fields today but after going through them, have found four nicely placed runners that looks good eachway chances.
I’ll post an update by 11.30 if there are any head to heads.
David, who is in top form with his Greyhound selections after Thursday night at Addington, will post his selections later this morning.
Bet of the day Race 4 10.Travelling Kate $$4 FF
Value bet of the day Race 11 2.Macros $9.00 FF
10.Travelling Kate last start stepped up to 1400m third up and almost won running second in the fastest closing sectionals in the race in all categories. Drawn out but has shown early speed so if Grylls can slot her in around midfield one off and they tick along ok, she can swamp these late. RP $3.40, $4 FF
6.Cinzento fresh up did extremely well to hold on for second after getting well back then improving wide in the open to get closer on the turn then showed real courage to fight on. She ran the fastest L800 46.19 of the race. Then she ran on ok second up but may have still been a bit flat from that game run fresh up. Drawn well here and does have enough early speed to make use of it and land about 6th or 7th in running and with the 3kgs off she looks well placed to bounce back. She was running top closing sectionals last year. RP $4.00, $4.80 FF
10.Roc Cha ran the race of a next up winner last start. She was caught 3 wide on a good tempo and most horses would have folded 200m out but she kept fighting for third to be just 1.6L from the winner in a good speed rating. Last campaign she was just beaten by the top filly Levante at Mata over 1200m on a Dead track. Drawn to get a good run on the pace and as long as they don’t go crazy up front, she is a decent eachway chance getting 4kgs off this time. RP $6, $9.50 FF
2.Macros three starts back at Tauranga over 1400m did very well from the wide draw when caught 4 wide midfield in the open off a decent tempo, loomed up 200m and was downed late by Ambitious Showgirl. His 37.49 L600 was excellent considering the stronger R65 race race was run at a slower tempo and he matched their best closing sectionals in an overall faster race time by 3 lengths. Then next up was caught wide on the pace and fought well for third. Last start at Ellerslie in a stronger $30k maiden, he began well but snagged to get cover but was caught 3 wide in the open. he didn’t flinch in the run home. He has a strong relaxed stride and his breeding suggests more ground will suit him, so with his early speed he maps to get a good run in behind the leaders and with the 3kgs off again, and back left handed, where he seems more comfortable, he looks nicely placed to break out of maidens. RP $5, $9 FF
9.Truefalls ran on strongly at Avondale with a nice staying action. Likely to get back and if they go hard enough, looks the main danger.
