Good morning,

I won’t be running a Punters Club syndicate for Tauranga tomorrow as I have a non-racing function I’ll be attending.

Today we have some big fields on a decent track. It looks advantage bookies so tread carefully.

Bet of the Day Race 3 8.Meg $1.80 FF 3rd

Value bet of the Day Race 9 4.Establishment $6.50 FF 2nd $2,50

Other value bet Race 5 1.Capital Gains $6.50 FF

Multi of the day Race 1 3.Rip Van Gogh $2.80  and Race 3 8.Meg $1.80 $10 returns $50

Race 1

Confidence:2/5

3.Rip Van Gogh did very well last start when wide in the open and kept taking ground off the winner, Maria Farina, who has won again since as well as the fourth horse. Drawn wide but with plenty of speed likely from inside and out, Danielle can slot her in midfield with cover and from there, should be too good. RP $2.50

Danger:

11.Lady Telena came strongly last start and will be fitter- good draw could swing it her way.

Race 3

Confidence:3/5

8.Meg did very well to almost beat a smart horse fresh up. Her closing sectionals were excellent and the 2340m looks ideal. The trainer wouldn’t back her up so soon unless he thought she was ready to win. RP $1.80, $1.80 FF

Race 4

Confidence:2/5

11.Kaluanui ran home well last start but wanted to run in under the right hand whip and needed to be straightened up losing momentum. Lisa Allpress is a good left hand whip rider and her going on could make all the difference. RP $2.60, $1.90 FF is too short though.

 

Race 5

Confidence:2/5

1.Capital Gains  almost got up last start after doing some extra work. Will be fitter for that and drawn to get all favours this time. Gets 2kgs off. RP $4

7.Thalassa got out in time last start and ran on ok but should have done more. $3.30 is too short.

Race 6

Very open race best watched

Race 7

2.Penny Royal  won really well at Taupo, her favourite track. Maps to get a good run again and be hard to beat.

1.Grand Mayson got badly checked fresh up in a stronger field. Fitter for that and gets 3kgs off in an easier race.

6.Pownce good third fresh up and drawn to get an ideal run. Can run time.

5.Castani looks like he needs more ground now and gets it in the right race.

 

Race 8

Confidence: 1/5 in an open race

8.Silent Approach has been find9ing the line like she wants a middle distance now. Drawn to get all favours.

3.Take That  is bred to win a few races and with Lisa Allpress up, this may be the first of them.

1.Lincoln Lane  obvious chance – just needs a good run from the wide draw.

13.Redgum  has shown enough to include in quaddies.

Race 9

Confidence: 2/5

4.Establishment he only finished seventh but found the line nicely late running the best last 200m in 11.91 which was very good in the context of the day. Can only improve off that being his debut run. Drawn to get all favours with 3kgs off.

1.Sir Caleb did well at his first go over ground and will be spot on for this.

6.Zeroed  has done enough to include from the good draw. 1st $13

7.Bo Jackson  ran on nicely last start. Fitter now.

Race 10

Confidence:2/5

2.Cage Phyta  has the ability to win at least a couple more races. Gets 2kgs off and is a chance.

1.Military Step 1st $3  racing well in handy fields. Finds the right race to win again.

4.Rex Royale strong third last start- just needs a good ride from the wide barrier.

9.All In Stitches with a good run from the wide draw with Lisa up, can win.
