Always a tricky meeting here and made trickier with rain forecast to arrive sometime after lunch. Then you throw in the Invisible Levin Jumpouts and it becomes a real mystery day.
I’ve found three nice bets below and will update with any head to heads by 10.20 a.m.
Confidence: 3/5 1st $5.40 and more elsewhere
3.Bold Mac was impressive at the trials and was punted off the map on debut but reared at the start and lost his chance. He opened $4.20 and has been backed into $3.30. negative is he ahs drawn widest but so has his main danger Deny, so if he gets half a decent run from that draw, he should beat this below average lot. RP $2.70, $3.10 Ff
2.Ocean Chief looked good on the eye when winning his last trial. In his previous trial he led and bolted away for an easy win. Long striding galloper who looks best in front so the good draw should allow him to do that. RP $3.00, $3.10 FF unlucky 4th
Confidence: 2/5 4th after having his chance
1.Lava Rock looks well placed here. He led and was run down here last start over 2100m by a nice horse in a good speed rating. Dropping back to 2000m looks ideal as he likes to roll along in front and this track suits front runners. Gets 2kgs off this time and he maps to get an uncontested lead and looks set to get his maiden win. RP $4.20, $5.00 FF
