Hastings

Good morning,

Some weak fields today but there are a few good confidence bets because of that.

The weekly review can be seen here.

Bet of the Day Race 7 2.Witsabouthim $1.90 FF 1st $1.90

Value bet of the Day Race 9 11.No Rock No Pop $9 FF 1st $6.60

Multi of the Day Race 5 5.Bayarma $2.10  FF and Race 7 2.Witsabouthim $1.90 FF $10 returns $40

Suggested late quaddie for $23.10 for 10%

R6   1367101314
R7   2
R8   1234567891113
R9   2311

Race 1

Confidence: 4/5

2.Bakela  has the best form on the flat and based on the very competent  and clever way way he jumped when bolting in at his debut over hurdles last campaign, means against these inferior gallopers on the flat, he should win with Shaun Fannin on board. RP $1.70, $2.05 Ff

Race 3

1.Aljay is the $1.65 favourite and the way he charged home to almost get up last start is the reason why. But it is an Amateur riders race and he has drawn 1 and gets back. So alarm bells rings with those two big crosses. So 3.I’m Chuck who rates equally on top in the Formpro Ratings and who has the early speed to get handy could have a winning advantage on him on the turn, especially if he is held up in traffic. RP $4.50, $6 FF

Race 4

You have more chance of predicting the weather at noon on Christmas day than picking the winner of this.

Race 5

Confidence: 3/5

5.Bayarma last start here wasn’t rushed out and was midfield early then as others came round wide midrace, she got shuffled back. Then she was held up in the straight and burst through late. She would have won with a clear run and is a good looking galloper. Drawn the inside here and she has shown enough early speed to take advantage of it and trail or be three back inner. Samantha Collett knows her well and she strikes a weak field. RP $1.90

Race 6

Confidence: 1/5

14.She Speeds ran on strongly two starts back over 1600m and battled on the synthetic last start. May be better back on the grass and Lisa Allpress jumping on is a big tick.

13.Savastep strong third last start and peaking now.

10.Platinum Petals  solid third last start and looks like a middle distance will suit now.

6.Akela Belle has placed in an R74 middle distance race. Ran on late last start.

Race 7

Confidence: 3/5

2.Witsabouthim  was a $250k purchase and is bred to win a few races. With a clear run on debut would have won. Strikes a weak field here and Tony Pike will have him primed to win. Drawn to give Michael McNab to come back to scale with no excuses. RP $1.50, $1.90 FF

Race 8

This is a field job minus the 12 and 15.

Race 9

Confidence: 2/5

11.No Rock No Pop  led all the way here last campaign and the way she fought back after leading last start over today’s distance of 1400m, shows she is ready to win again here with the 3kgs off.

Danger:

3.Rabada looked good winning off a tough run two starts back then ran a top 2nd last start when confidently backed to win. Looks the main danger.

2.Excitonic  with 3kgs off in the same grade from Te Akau can’t be left out.
