Saturday 7 August preview below

Update 12.44 p.m. Warwick’s Heads Up $20 multi bet is on Makzabeel and Sir Beets, both to win, to return $152

Good morning,

I’ve found a handful of runners that look well placed to win. I could do selections for other races but I won’t be having a bet in them so can’t see the point in tempting you to lose your money.

Bet of the Day Ruakaka Race 4 4.Makzabeel $1.90 FF 2nd

Value bet of the day Riccarton Race 8 7.Sir Beets $4.20 FF 4th

Sneaky of the day Ruakaka Race 8 14.Shelob $10 FF

Update 11.40 a.m. Friday- next update by 9 a.m. Saturday.

The Goat’s best sports bet is Australia +10.5 at Half time at $1.83 2 units in the rugby Saturday night.

Heads Up below with a preview of the Winter Cup and your chance to win a $20 multi

Ruakaka

Race 2

Confidence:3/5

5.Saint Alice closed off hard late here last start in a harder field. She definitely looks like she will be better suited with blinkers going on as well. RP $2.50, $2.70 FF

Race 3

Confidence:2/5

4.Master Park Cambridge 14 July He had every right to weaken after being 3 wide on a good tempo as indicated by the sectionals, so to lead in the straight and just get run down by a back marker, and where all the other on pace runners tired, means he just needs a decent draw and he will be much harder to run down.

Drawn ideally here and looks the one to beat. RP $4, $6 FF

Race 4

Confidence: 3/5

4.Makzabeel in his review of his last run,’ Te Rapa 24 July They didn’t go hard in this and the winner got a winning advantage on the turn. He closed off strongly so wait till he gets back to a middle distance then he will be much harder to keep out.’

So gets back to a middle distance and in the right race. Looks very well placed. RP $2, $2.20 FF

Race 8

Confidence: 2/5

14.Shelob in her last two starts has found the line strongly in good sectionals. Last start, third up over ground in an open handicap here, she ran home in the best last 200m. So even though she is a maiden, racing out of her class, she gets in on a winning weight of 51kgs and looks a good eachwway chance against an average lot. RP $6, $10 and $3.30 FF

Riccarton

Race 7

Confidence:2/5

15.Take The Deel sustained a big finish to run second last start and his high knee action will ensure he will get through this ground. Very fit and gets in on a winning weight. RP $7, $10 FF

Race 8

Confidence: 2/5

7.Sir Beets  has been racing very well and will relish the step up to 1800m with the way he gets his head down and just gives it everything. Handles a heavy track very well and is a strong horse. Drawn near the rail so as long as quick sand hasn’t developed by then, he is a good chance. RP $3.50, $4.20 FF
