Caulfield

The Pick 6 syndicate details are here and I’ll update the bet on this page

Bet of the Day Caulfield Race 3 7.Turaath $1.90 FF 1st $1.50

Value bet of the Day Kembla Grange Race 1 9.The Storm In Me $4.80 FF

Race 3

Confidence: 4/5 1st $1.50

7.Turaath has been outstanding in her last two wins, the last in a top speed rating. gets in here on a winning weight and should land in a winning position. A firmer track with her action is not an issue. RP $1.60, $1.90 FF

Race 4

Confidence:3/5

1.Artorius  is a very good horse who is ready to win fresh up based on his recent trial and jumpout. He won in devastating form here in the Blue Diamond and the main pointer is the blinkers going on which he won the Blue Diamond in. Drawn to get a quiet run and just needs the breaks to be hard to beat. RP $2.70

Dangers:

2.General Beau ran a real improver’s race fresh up and from the inside should lead and if he gets a softish time, as he did not get in the Blue Diamond, with the fitness edge, he could hold on.

9.Heresy ran a top 2nd here fresh up from a wide draw sustaining a long sprint . Drawn much better and is fitter.

Race 5

Confidence: 3/5

1.Masked Crusader 1st $1.90  is a true Group 1 horse. His William Reid win was outstanding after getting back on the inner. He has had enough trialing and work to say he is ready to return on a winning note. There looks to be plenty of speed up front and he just needs a run with cover to drive over these. RP $1.60, $1.80 FF

Race 6

Confidence: 3/5

1.Probabeel  1st $1.90  as we know is one of the best mares we have ever sent to Australia. She won here in February with the same weight over 1200m being wide all the way. She missed work through a raised temperature so settled for this shorter sprint to kick off her campaign. Drawn wide but the early  speed map shows she can get cover and against an average Group 3 field of mares, she is such a professional race mare that she should be too good for these, especially if the inside is off. RP $1.70, $1.80 FF

Danger:

2.Instant Celebrity  is a very good sprinter as she showed when winning the Sangster in very good time. Tends to get back but if they go hard, she will be charging home. Needs things to go wrong for Probabeel though to beat her home.

Race 7

An open race with many chances.

Confidence: 2/5

2.Angel Of Truth ran a top second fresh up and this is easier.

7.Ziegfield is a good horse who raced against strong fields. Wide draw will help if inside is off.

12.Bartholemew Dias  looked good winning at Flemington. If inside is ok, is right in this.

Race 8

Confidence:2/5

2.Behemoth 1st $3.00  is a horse that needs room so if he can slide over second outer or get into the 1×1, he will be very hard to beat. He is a very good horse. RP $3.00

Dangers:

10.Tofane  has residual fitness to give her a fitness edge and drawn to get the last go at Bohemoth.

7.Aegon  is fit enough to win fresh up. Just needs the right run.

Race 9

Confidence: 3/5

11.Ayrton 1st $1.70  is a very exciting horse who can run time and sectionals. Ready to win fresh up and if the inside is off, should win. RP $1.90, $2.00 FF

12.King Magnus  has a draw and fitness edge if the rail is ok.

1.Groundswell strong fit horse who could prove hard to run down if Ayrton has no luck.

Kembla Grange

Race 1

Confidence: 2/5

9.The Storm In Me  was  decisive winner last start and in an excellent speed rating. Has the early speed to cross and get into a winning spot and be a solid eachway chance from there. RP $4.50, $5.80 FF

Race 2

Confidence: 3/5

6.Royalzel  1st $1.90  is well placed here ticking most boxes including James McDonald on board from the right draw. Looked ready to win after a quiet recent trial. RP $1.80, $1.90 FF

Race 5

Confidence: 2/5

1.Subterranean  is well placed in this after an improver’s 4th fresh up and should be spot on now.

6.Military Expert  won his maiden well last start with an ideal wet track action. Well bred and can go on with it.

2.Coastwatch ready to peak third up and drawn the inside with James up.

7.Chill won very well last start and has an ideal wet track action from a good draw.

3.Arnaqueur  strong winner fresh up and if they go hard can be right in it.

Race 6

Confidence: 2/5

1.Stay Inside  has won 3 from 4 including a dominant Slipper win! Has excellent form on wet tracks with an ideal action for them. Trialed up very well and set to go.

4.Paulele  was a dominant winner fresh up and looks s definite improver.

8.In The Congo 1st $6 was unlucky when held up last start behind Paulele and with the right run could beat the lot.

Race 7

This is the tricky race of the Pick 6. You can make a case for most runners.

In order: 12-13-1-10-9

Race 8

Another open race: In order: 3-7-2-4-5

Race 9

6.Andermatt  1st 2.70  has trialed up like a winner hand has won twice fresh up. Looks the obvious one.

4.Majestic Shot needs luck but if she gets it can beat Andermatt.

Race 10

Tricky race. In order 13-8-17-6
