Wednesday preview below

Some big open fields today. Habana does look well placed and Drum Major does as well.

Bet of the Day Race 2 1.Habana $2.90 FF 1st $3.30

Value bet of the day Race 9 1.Drum Major $7 FF

Race 1

Confidence: 2/5

1.Logan’s Logic last start here began well but ended up near the back after having to snag for cover. He loomed wide on the last turn and closed off strongly for second in good sectionals. Drawn better and maps to land in the first half of the field this time and get his chance to break through. Long striding gelding who gets his chance to break through now. RP $3.50

Race 2

Confidence: 3/5

1.Habana did very well last start over 970m when he was caught 5th 3w open and still kept taking ground off the winner in the best last 400m. The step to 1230m looks ideal. Leith Innes jumps on and fitter now so looks very hard to beat. RP $2.50, $2.90

Race 7

The speed map shows early speed from inside and out so a solid early pace and even from there.

Confidence: 2/5

1.Mohaka does look well placed here. She rated a career best FR110 fresh up last start against a stronger fillies and mares race. She gets 4kgs off and maps to land in the first six in running. The negative is the 4kg apprentice but with a good trip likely, the pair can get home. Rates 2 lengths clear in the Formpro Ratings after weight adjustments. RP $3.40

7.Side By Side closed off strongly for second last start over 1400m and 1560m will suit now as will Danielle Johnson jumping on who has won on her before.

11.Lavaglo is a nice mare on a dangerous weight. With the right run can win.

2.Naval Fleet should get an ideal run and closed off very nicely in a recent trial.

Race 8

Confidence: 3/5

2.Side Hustle probably would have won here last start if she had not been held up. Drawn to get an ideal run and 1560m looks ideal now. RP $3

1.Kamai Queen  just needs a clean beginning to be the main danger. Rated well enough to win if she does.

5.Songsungblu  solid third last start and peaking now.

Race 9

Confidence: 2/5

1.Drum Major  won his maiden very well for us at double figure odds then rated strongly against good 3yo fields. Looks well placed here with 3kgs off and maps to get in to a nice position. RP $5, $7 FF

7.Wewillrock was an impressive winner at Taupo and the 2nd, 3rd and 4th horses have all won since. Needs a good ride though from that wide draw.

6.Light Brocade  drops back to R65 class third up with 1kg off. Can lesd them a merry chase with a good jump.

Race 10

Confidence: 1/5

7.Tammie Wynette  drops back in class and rates on top in the Formpro Ratings. Could lead them a merry chase.

11.Kool Choux strong finishing third here last start. Right in this.

8.Encantador could get a good run with good beginning and has the ability to win it.

2.Kid Roc  shows potential which can’t be said for a lot in this.
