Sunday Boxing Day preview below

Good morning,

No Heads Up today. Back next week with the highlights of the year.

Three well placed Good Confidence bets for Sunday so far. There are going to be lots of races where you can lose your money over the next ten days or so, so if we can hopefully find the best placed ones at value, we have a fighting chance of making a profit.

Ellerslie

Race 1

Confidence:3/5

4.Run To Perfection

Just forget he went round last start. The very wide draw meant he had to go well back in the 16 horse field. Then he was held up in the straight but still managed to run the best closing sectionals in all categories. In this he looks well suited to the even temp up front where he maps to settle last but get his chance to power over these in the last 100 metres. RP $3.30, $4.50 FF

Race 5

Confidence: 3/5

4.Karman Line on debut right handed at Te Aroha had to be very good to win after being blocked 400m out, then once out was put off balance by another moving out, but showed a very good turn of foot to swoop by them and win easing down. Then second up at Te Rapa, left handed, got behind midfield and was held up again, but charged late in clearly the best closing sectionals in a fast time. Back right handed and over 1600m looks ideal. Will get back but will be close enough to strike 200m out. RP $1.90, $2.40 FF

Race 7 1st leg of the $100k Guaranteed quaddie

Confidence:3/5 1st $3.50

2.Bankers Choice  won like the good horse he is. His closing sectionals were excellent and they had to be as they didn’t go that hard. Peaking nicely for this and with a good speed very likely, should get his chance to get over these. RP $3.50, $4.20 FF

Dangers:

7.Packing Joy is right in this with a decent tempo. Has had things go against him and just needs the right run.

4.Sindicato  is a good horse on the way through the grades. Leith Innes will give him every chance right handed for the first time.

Race 8

Confidence: 3/5

13.Vamos Bebe  won this race last year really well but bled. Dominant win off the front at Matamata and solid 4th in a stronger sprint last start after getting hampered. Drawn to get a winning run. RP $2.40, $2.50 FF

Danger:

12.Oseleta  is a very good mare and if they go hard, and Vamos gets held up, she can win.

Race 9

Confidence: 2/5  1st $15

2.Tiptronic  ran a very game fifth in this last year when 3 wide in the open to run a 2.8L fifth. His third behind Too Illicit at Te Rapa will have him spot on for this third up. Plus there doesn’t look to be a lot of tempo in this and he should be able to land in the first four and get every chance at good odds. RP $8, $15 Ff

Dangers:

12.Two Illicit  was a strong winner at Te Rapa but is likely to get back and with not a lot of tempo likely, can get beaten.

10.Aegon can’t be left out although on his last run you could be excused for leaving him out. Too good to discount just yet though.

11.Concert Hall  with a good beginning is a winning chance. Classy mare who was a strong winner last start.

Race 10 last leg of the quaddie

This really is a field job but if you want to go shorter then in this order: 11-5-12-1-16-13

Awapuni

Race 4

Confidence: 3/5

1.Nod Of The Head  was a dominant winner at Otaki and needs a decent surface to perform best on. he gets that here and with the 4kgs off, is very well placed to win again. RP $2.00, $2.30 Ff
