R7   346
R8   25
R9   8

Race 1

Confidence: 2/5

1.Overagain had been running today races in maiden company then started in a strong R65 race last start, was squeezed back at the start to last, but then went round them wide 600m out and fought on well for 10th running the best last 800m and 600m. Drops back to a much easier maiden now and handles a wet track well. RP $3.50, $4.50 FF

Race 2

Confidence: 2/5

1.Weowna Tiger  1st=  rated FR100 last start in a stronger R65 field. Drops back to this easier maiden race so looks well placed to win now. Has had a few chances though but won’t get a better chance. Wet track ok. RP $3.00, $3.50 FF

Race 3

Confidence:2/5

1.Horopito  drops out of a couple of strong R74 races back to this easier R65 field. Nice run last start running home well late in the third best last 200m. Drawn to get a good run and won his maiden here over 1600m on a slow 8 track. RP $5, $7 FF

Race 4

Confidence: 3/5

7.Extraordinaire 2nd  last start was travelling like the winner well out and had to cover extra ground but really came home strongly for third in the second best sectionals of the race. Drops back to 1400m but the small field will allow her to settle back and she just looks too good for these. She needs to win to keep her Oaks chances alive. Out of Everswindell who won a NZ Cup. A slow track will be ok. ( Currently $26 for the Oaks )  RP $1.80, $2 FF

Race 6 first leg of the $30k guaranteed quaddie

One of the four below should take this out.

4.Shakeout  looks decent chance based on his last start Trentham run. Got a bit squeezed at the start and used gas to recover. Travelled well with a nice action and was 2nd till Vishaka ran him down late and she bolted in next start. 1200m looks ideal but if it gets to slow/heavy, her action says she may struggle, so watch how the day pans out.

1.Flat Track Bully  1st $3.70  rates on top here in the FR and the blinkers go on  but has had a few chances and failed on two wet tracks attempts so beatable.

5.Joy McCoy  in his last trial at Ellerslie, led, but hung out around the top but showed good acceleration to kick away and win easily with a good wet track action. Looked more comfortable left handed winning his trial at Cambridge. Drawn out but looks a handy type and a wide draw may help if the rail is off.

6.Game Duke in his last trial at Ellerslie drew wide, jumped well but snagged back to last, came the widest on the turn and kept up a strong gallop for a close second. Good wet track action and from the inside draw should be right in it from the start.

Race 7

Confidence:2/5

6.Bold Iris  had an interrupted run most of the way in a stronger field at Trentham last start but closed off nicely late in the third bets last 200m. Goes best here but wouldn’t want it slow to heavy. RP $3.50, $4.20 FF

3.Pure Imagination 1st $2.90 is best when in front and if he can get that, or even 2nd outer outside Matt Cain, he has to be a chance.

4.Matt Cain  has the blinkers going on at the right time and if he leads and the inside is ok, can win. Rates on top in the FR with a close 5th two starts back in a stronger field at Trentham.

Race 8

Confidence:1/5 in a tricky race as they all want a Dead or better track.

2.Sagunto  should get an uncontested lead and a Slow track may be ok, so looks a justified favourite.

5.Bobby Dee has the best form on slow tracks and maps to get a cosy trail with a weight advantage.

3.Rangitata 1st $2.50  won well at Trentham but all of his best form is on Dead or better.

Race 9

Confidence: 3/5

8.Lily Laguna 1st $3.60 does look well placed here after an unlucky 7th at Trentham in a stronger field. She was held up but still ran the best last 400m and 200m of the race. She won on a slow track at Taupo and with a query on  slow track with the two favourites, she can beat these. RP $2.50, $3.80 FF

Dangers:

7.Herself  looked good winning her maiden here but a wet track is a query.

1.Putorino is a nice galloper who has run 4th and 6th on slow tracks in his only two starts on them, so with 60kgs, is beatable.
