Race 1
Confidence: 2/5
5.Yellow Jersey won very well when winning his maiden and R65 back to back. Good horses only do that. Then he ran a close second to the Buffer next up and he has won a couple more since. He was given a quiet trial at Te Awamutu but was doing his best work after the line. He will be close to last in running but with an even pace likely, Sam Weatherley should get his chance. RP $5, $6.50 FF
Race 2
Confidence:3/5
7.Ulanova was very impressive first up when disputing a fast pace and showed a good kick to win beating Farravallo who went a very good race next up. She has since trialled where she sat outside the leader and eased away for a strong win. She should land outside Shoes or may lead and be very hard to beat. Trobriand has drawn wide and will have to ease back or risk getting caught 3 wide. RP $2.00, $2.50 Ff
Race 3
Confidence:2/5
1.Dynastic has been gelded which will help him concentrate and he ran on late in his trial looking good. 1600 metres should suit him and with Opie on, he will get his chance. Early money for him is good to see too. RP $4.50, $5.50 FF
Race 4
Confidence: 2/5 1st $5
3.Aquacade was an impressive winner at Pukekohe 2 starts back. Needed the run last start and perfectly placed to win this. 2400m suits ideally. RP $3.50, $4.20 FF
Race 5
Confidence:3/5
3.Skew Iff ran a game race for second in good time to Legarto at Pukekohe last start and has always looked as though she would see out a strong 2000m. She is bred to see it out and with Opie Bosson on board and drawn well, she will get every chance. RP $2.50, $3.00FF
Race 6
Confidence:2/5
1.Wairau Cove ran second to Bonnie Lass who is contention for the Railway. He is a smart gelding and if Kelsey Hannan can settle behind midfield, the re is a heap of pace in this and he can track up on the turn and beat these. RP $3.20, $3.50 FF
Race 7
Confidence:3/5
1.Levante is a class mare and has been set for this. There is plenty of speed up front and she should get the race run to suit. She looks a good bet. RP $2.20 FF
Race 8
Confidence: 3/5
4.Self Obsession has gone a two game races then ran 8th on a heavy track here. She needs a firm surface to be a serious winning chance and she is very likely to get that. From the good draw she should get a winning run and be too good. RP $3.50, $5.00 FF
Race 9
Confidence:2/5
13.Belle En Rouge was slow away and settled last but got him stylishly for 4th in the best sectionals. She is a smart mare when right and Dean Yendall is a top rider. She will be beyond midfield but will be suited by the 1600m. RP $6, $9 FF
Race 10
Confidence: 2/5
12.Gwen’s Daughter put up an tremendous run second up when caught wide and still closed off in the quickest sectionals. She will relish the 1600m and will be fitter now. RP 4.00, $5.50 FF
