Trentham 21 January

Race 2

2.Testify Me 1st $5  has impressed at his last two outings. The last over 1400m in faster time than the R65s. His closing sectionals widest on the track stacked up very well with the R65 race off a slower tempo. So she is ready to win third up. The tempo looks ok for her as she will be motoring home late. RP $3.50, $5.50 FF

Race 5

7.Pisco Sour ran a very good second two starts back in a good speed rating and then drew out at Pukekohe and had to ease back towards the rear in the 14 horse field. Then she was held up for a few strides then ran on strongly for 4th in good sectionals and very good speed rating. Mercurial has since come out of that and won. From the inside she should get a good position and be hard to beat. RP $2.50, $3.30 FF

Race 7

3.Tavattack 1st $2.20 is a good horse who ran very good times last year. He has had a warm up for this with a fighting third at Otaki. He maps to settle near last but with at least an even tempo likely, he will get his chance to get out and finish over the top of these. RP $2.50, $2.70 FF

Race 1

The speed map shows Sagunto leading and setting a good pace. Suits all runners.

5.Soprano Supreme gets a good pull in the weights here against Sagunto and Tututaka of 5.5kgs. She finished off nicely last start over 1600m and with a true tempo likely, that weight difference  could be the difference. She finished 3rd to Sagunto on a soft track with an interrupted passage and the better track will suit her. She also meets him 6kgs better off in the weights, RP $3.20, $3.80 FF

2.Tututaka  won decisively last start but beat a weaker field with 54 kgs and rises 6 kgs. On the up though so is the main danger.

Race 2

The speed map shows Faithful Feat leading and an even pace likely suiting all runners.

1.Imperatriz drops in class for this but rises in weight to 59kgs but it shouldn’t be enough to keep her out. She maps to get a winning run and should win. $RP $1.30, $1.40 FF 1st 1.55

3.Faithful Feat maps to lead and if she can get a soft 200m before the turn, is going to be the one Imperatriz has to run down. $2.10 FF Top 3 is excellent value.

Race 3

The speed map shows 5 runners looking to lead and a solid tempo likely suiting off pace runners.

2.Maven Belle won easily last start in good time fresh up. She will no doubt look to ease back again and with good speed up front likely, will get every chance to finish over the top of these. $RP $1.90, $2.20 FF 1st $2.50

Race 4

The speed map shows plenty of speed early so it sets up for a closer

4.Talisker ran a top race last start making up 6 lengths on Trobriand in excellent sectionals. He drew wide then and began well but was eased back and got in one off at the back. The start before he ran 3rd to Tokyo Tycoon and had a to change ground late and was taking ground off him late too. As can be seen in the speed map, he maps to settle back but he does have enough speed to settle midfield and from there, based on those two runs, and the long straight, he can finish late over the top of these. And Blinkers go on third up. RP $4.50, $7.50 FF and may pay more closer to start time. Top four is paying $2.00.

2.Tokyo Tycoon 1st $4.70 was an easy winner here in fast time and the race sets up well for him to come at them late.

1.Trobriand looks an obvious chance but is no value at $3.00

7.Impendabelle should get a better run than last start here and is a place chance.

Race 5

Confidence:2/5  1st $4.70

7.Green Aeon won strongly fresh up in a good speed rating. Next up he sat 3 wide, led on the turn and was run down late by Synchronise in very good time. There was a gap to third. He carried 58.5 kgs then and drops to 53kgs for this. From the good draw, he looks like he will settle 3rd or 4th behind Rose ‘N’ Power and Johny Johny and be the one to beat from there. RP $4.50, $6.00 FF

13.Fashion Shoot would have got closer last start as she was held up badly and when she got out and flew home. Drawn to go close.

3.Malt Time comes out of the Railway which is strong form for this

11.Synchronise should get the race run to suit and be powering home.

Race 6

The speed map shows a solid tempo being set by Wessex and suiting all runners and maybe erring towards off pace runners.

Confidence: 3/5

9.Legarto is unbeaten and won in excellent fashion last start here.

Her sectionals were excellent. . She is a classy filly. Maps to get back inner but the tempo will be good so she will get her chance to get out and win. RP $1.90, $2.30 FF $2.70 Boosted.

1.Wild Night just keeps winning and doing to it well. Will likely be ahead of Legarto on the turn but I feel that Legarto is superior and will run her down.

10.Prowess 1st $9  should land in a winning position and is a good top 4 chance.
