Saturday 28 January preview below

Update 11.51am

Multi of the month. $10 returns $19.50

Head To Head

Ladies Man $1.50 to beat Waisake will really relish the wet track and the two miles where as Waisake with 3.5kgs more has handled it in the past but prefers a better track against this grade. It is very hard to see him beating home Ladies Man. Yes

Race 2

Confidence: 5/5

1.Kings Gambit could not have been more impressive winning on debut. Should trail these and be too good.  RP $1.10, $1.30 FF Got out and had his chance.

Race 1

15.Tarted Up is very well placed here on 54.5 kgs. She has won a heavy track at Tauranga and then ran second to Maven Belle at Pukekohe after sitting 3 wide in the open and Maven Belle won again next up. She maps to get an ideal run and looks very hard to beat. RP $2.70, $3.20 FF

Race 2

8.Perfect Puss 1st $3 she won here from a wide draw over 1200m on a Soft to Heavy track. She found 1400m to far last start and back to 1200m on a Soft to heavy track again, she looks a good each way chance.

Race 3

Confidence: 2/5

9.Pipers Fling on debut ran second to Cognito on a soft track which is looking pretty good now. She won really well last start in a good speed rating and will no doubt have been set for this $60k race. Drawn well and will likely get back and be storming home. RP $3.80, $4.50 FF

Race 4

1.Canheroc 2nd  would have finished 2nd or maybe even won if he wasn’t held up in the straight. He was in front 100m past the post. A wet track won’t be a concern. Opie takes the reins and that may make the difference. Rp$3.50, $3.60 FF

Race 5

5.Ivy Dazzler put up a big run here over 1200 when charging home for second. Then she was caught wide and faded late here last start in a stronger field. She may go forward or drop back depending on how she jumps. The track should be better out wide and with 2kgs off she can come down the middle and win. Rates on top in the Formpro Ratings. RP $4.00, $6.50FF

Race 6

2.Rocababy has beaten some good horses and won strongly last start. She gives every impression she will see out a strong 1600m and Lisa Allpress stays on. RP $3.80, $4.00 FF

Race 7

The speed map shows an even speed allowing all runners their chance.

10.Sharp ‘N’ Smart 2nd won the Group 3 Gloaming Stakes in 1.39 for 1600m in Australia fresh up on a heavy track. He went to win a Group 1 and 2nd in the Victorian Derby. He is a classy horse who should be disadvantaged by a Soft to Heavy track as  much as some others. RP $3.80, $4.20 FF

4.La Crique is also a classy mare and if the track remains at a Soft 5 she is  the one to beat. She maps to get a good position handy and is a definite chance on a decent track, but on a soft to heavy, she is no $2.00 chance.

8.Conor O’Ceirin  went a very good third last start and will appreciate a slow to heavy track. $26 FF

Race 8

6.Raffle if the inside is ok she looks well placed here. She has placed here on a similar surface and is a nice eachway chance. RP $4.50, $5.00 FF

Race 9

The speed map shows

6.Ladies Man has been set for this race perfectly and gets in on a winning weight. He is in winning form and maps to get the ideal run off the pace and track into it. With that light weight he will be the one to beat. RP $2.20, $2.50 FF

4.Inmyshadow if the rain comes is a genuine chance. He ran second in the NZ Cup and is a tough stayer. $18 FF

Race 10

A very open race.

Confidence: 1/5

7.Chikira Lass won well last start and gets 3kgs off. Loves a heavy track. RP $7.00, $11.00 FF
