Bet of the Day Te Rapa Race 9 5.Imperatriz $2.70 FF 1st $2.20 FF

Value Bet of the day Race 2 11.Niance $6.50 FF 2nd $2.10 FF

Multi of the Day Race 2 11.Niance Top 4 $1.70, Race 4 1.Prowess $1.35 FF, Race 9 5.Imperatriz Top 2 $1.60 $10 returns $36.70 Yes

Race 1

Confidence:3/5 2nd $1.70

5.Fashion Shoot put in outstanding sectionals last start when charging home for second. That was over 1200 against Open handicappers. She steps to 1400m here and the drop in class and with Opie on, looks very hard to keep out. RP $3.00, $3.80 FF

Race 2

Confidence:2/5 2nd $2.10

11.Niance won well on debut and was an unlucky 4th at Pukekohe. She was checked badly twice then did incredibly well to get out and grab 4th. Drawn to get a good run and is a good chance. $RP $5, $7.50 FF

Race 3

Confidence:2/5 4th

3.Midnight Mass looked good winning last campaign when winning on debut and winning twice more from a total of seven starts. He will be ready to from the Nigel Tiley stable and won a jumpout in January to set him for this. Drawn to get a good run. RP $3.80, $4.50 FF

Race 4

Confidence:4/5 1st $1.30

1.Prowess is a justified $1.40 favourite being rated 19 points above the next best and at set weights. The only negative is the draw. RP $1.40, $1.40 FF

Danger:

9.Malfy Rosa won well here at her first go over ground. She is bred to be a good stayer so could be the quinella chance. RP Quinella $5, $7.60 Fixed 4th

Race 6

The speed map shows no obvious leader apart from Cruz Missile and it looks like a race run at a moderate pace suiting those on the pace.

Confidence:2/5

8.Campionessa 2nd  $2.10 won strongly here over 1600m beating Belle En Rouge which went on to win the Anniversary Handicap next start. Then she put in an enormous run for fourth running outstanding sectionals for a close fourth. She has drawn handy and I’m sure Opie will try and get into the first half of the field from there and is an upset chance. RP $7.50, $10 FF

Dangers:

9.Sharp ‘N Smart 1st $2.90 on 54 kgs has to be in this. Drawn wide which means he has to go forward or risk going back on a slow pace. So if he settled in the first four has to be the main danger with his form in Australia.

10.Wild Night  3rd will relish 2000m and in the form he is in, is right in it.

1.Defibrillate is a tough Group 1 winner, freshened up. Goes well that way but has the draw against him.

Race 7 (Oops -forgot to put this in )

Confidence:2/5

7.Whiskey Neat 1st $5.40 is a good horse who looked like he would improver from his fresh up 2nd. Drawn out here but has the early speed to overcome that. RP $5, $6 FF

Dangers:

4.Rising Dream  beat Whiskey Neat last start and has drawn better.

1.Shepherds Delight drops in class and from the handy draw, with Opie on, is a chance.

Race 8

The speed map shows

5.Imperatriz 1st $5.40 maps to get every chance in the trail or 3 back inner. There looks to be a strong pace which means the gaps should open in time for Opie to get out and get going. She was outstanding winning the Railway and won the Group 3 next start with ease. She has trained on very well and looks the obvious one. RP $2.40, $2.70 FF

Dangers:

6.Levante over 1400m with a strong pace likely, will be well suited.

7.La Crique  from the good draw, has to be in there but has race fitness against her.

Race 9

Confidence:2/5

9.Roederer is going to love the 1600m based on the way he has found the line over 1400m. Fitter now and Michael McNab rides.

Dangers:

1.Rusty Lane is also a good horse who gets 2kgs off from a good draw. Beat Roederer three starts back.

11.It’s Business Time 1st $3.30 is in top form and with Opie on, has to be in combinations.
