Pukekohe

Update: No further bets

Good morning. Some good fields at Pukekohe today but the bet of the day is at Ascot Park, Specialty. His time and sectionals were outstanding last start with the blinkers going on. At set weights he looks a very good bet. I’ll post an update by noon.

Bet of the Day Ascot Park Race 6 1.Specialty $2.30 FF 2nd

Value Bet of the Day Pukekohe Race 4 4. Vistown $4.20 FF 2nd

Multi of the day Pukekohe Race 2 4.I Choose You $3.20 FF ( Bonus Back up to $50 ) into Specialty $2.30 FF $10 returns $73 approximately.

Recommended quaddie for $24 for 20%

R5   1, 2
R6   4, 12, 15
R7   4, 6, 7, 9, 12
R8   2, 6, 9, 12

Race 1

Confidence: 3/5

8.Mazzucato trialled up impressively before taking on a good field on debut and running second. She looked a definite improver and should get a nice run in behind the leaders and be the hardest to beat. RP $2.40, $2.50 FF

Race 2

Confidence:3/5 2nd $1.30

4.I Choose You  won decisively last start and looks nicely placed here. She was unlucky here when checked badly and ran on well late. She is still on the up and drawn ideally to get the run of the race. RP $2.80, $3.20 FF

Race 3

Confidence:2/5 3rd $2.60

4.Cool Change was unlucky not to have finished closer in the Rich Hill Classic. She is a tough mare and with the freshen up, and with the light weight, can be right in this. RP $6. $9 FF

Race 4

Confidence: 3/5 2nd $1.80

4.Vistown looks well placed here from the draw. She has strengthened up since last season and almost won next up. The extra ground suits and she should land in the first six and be hard to beat. RP $3.20, $4.20 after opening $5 FF

Race 5

Confidence: 2/5 1st $3.90

2.Desert Lightning ran a strong third in the KM for third with Prowess and Wild Night finishing in front of him.. It was a strong field  and 2100m will suit him. RP $4.50, $5 FF

Dangers: 2nd Qu 4.50

2.Waitak did very well to grab 4th in the slower ground at Te Rapa. Capable of quick sectionals. Has to be in quaddies on a better track too.

Race 6

Confidence:3/5 2nd $1.60

12.Karman Line was late scratched at Pukekohe through transport problems. Drawn the inside and gets back but there looks to be plenty of pace in the race. Is a very good mare and just needs the gaps to open at the right time to win. RP $3.00, $3.80 FF

Dangers:

4.Regazzo races best on the fresh side and from the handy draw is the main danger if Karman Line gets in trouble.

15.Western Springs is capable of being in this with the right run from the draw.

Race 7

Confidence:2/5

4. Dionysus won really well two back then ran a game third in the Wellington Cup. Nicely drawn to ease back and get a nice run by Michael McNab. RP $5, $5.50 FF

Dangers:

7.Zee Falls won well last start and is going to get a good trip.

12.Contemplation has gone two very good races and drawn well on 53kgs.

9.Aquacade has drawn wide and has a high knee action and is paying $3.80 – too short. Got that wrong! 1st 2.90

Race 8

Confidence:1/5

12.Roccia won in a good speed rating two back and ran well for 6th in a strong field at Trentham. Drawn well should get a good trip. RP $4, $4.80 FF

Dangers:

9.Con Artist went two strong races then did extra work and weakened last start. With a good run he can prove that last wrong.

6.Iffindoubtdance raced well in better company and drops back in class. Wide draw but with a decent run, is in this.

2.Reverberations drops back in class and if he can get a decent passage from there, he can be in it.

Ascot Park

Race 6

Confidence:4/5 2nd

1.Specialty won decisively last start over 1500m in excellent time and sectionals smashing the track record. The blinkers going on obviously helped. The only negative is the draw but that has just boosted the price more. Only bad luck can beat him at set weights and he rates clearly on top in the Formpro Ratings. RP $1.50, $2.30FF
